Ed suffers another refusal
Ed speaks to another supplier, looking for a source of beer for the Deri, but they have heard about his financial situation and refuse.
"The place is going 'Belly up'!"
He tells Meic that with his credit rating, he has no chance of recovering from this, and says he has to sell, as the place is going “belly up.”
Hywel puts a copy of Wil's DVD in a box for Sheryl
Gaynor tells Hywel she would like to invite Sheryl over again, and she is taking a copy of Wil’s DVD on her way to school.   While her back is turned, Hywel slips a “Post It” note into the DVD case.
"Don't worry about last night"
When Gaynor delivers it to Sheryl, outside the salon, Sheryl takes it inside, opens it and sees the note, “Don’t worry about last night.”
Iolo finds a dirty mark on his shirt cuff
Iolo comes downstairs, psyching himself up for the first of his therapy sessions;  he notices a mark on his cuff, frantically tries to rub it off, then dashes upstairs to put on another shirt.
They are nearly ready for their French holiday
Siôn has finished a major translation job, and is now ready for his holiday with Britt in Brittany;  she is busy ironing, as she does not want to leave it for Dani to do next week.   Siôn then goes to call on Iolo.
"If the Deri is in trouble, I want to know!"
As Ed is turned down by another supplier, Garry comes into the Deri;  “Should I be worried?” he asks, “I don’t believe you any more!   If the Deri is in trouble, I want to know!”
"I shall want my £5,000 back!"
When Ed tells him he does not know what is going to happen next week, let alone in the next three months, Garry says, menacingly, “I shall want my £5,000 back straightaway, understand?   If you’re trying to deceive me . . .”   At this point Angela comes in.
Meic tells Siôn it appears the Deri is going bust
In the café, Meic tells Siôn that it looks as if the Deri will be going bust very soon, and he thinks the villagers should buy the pub.   Siôn says that a co-operative sounds like a good idea, and while in Brittany he will research French co-operative-run pubs.
Siôn will be glad to get away, after recent problems, including the leaking roof of the chapel;  Meic offers to make a donation towards the cost of repairs.
Debbie having problems with her iPad (I blame the operator)
Then Debbie comes in, complaining that her iPad has stopped working;  Meic tells her, “You’ve worn it out with so much shopping!”
Sheryl, obviously glad to see the back of Hywel
Sheryl comes out of the salon and bumps into Hywel;  she feels uncomfortable and is glad when he leaves.
Now Hywel is summoned to look at Debbie's iPad – versatile chap!
He goes to the Deri and gives back Ed’s repaired laptop, but Ed cannot pay him until next week, and cannot even give him a pint as all the beer is gone.
"I have no choice – I have to sell!"
Angela plays the part of a sympathetic listener, as he tells her the Deri’s problems;  “What are you going to do?” she asks.   Ed replies that he has no idea;  “I can’t pay the bills, there is no money in the bank and only £20 in the till.   I have no choice now – I have to sell!”
Dani, uptight at the news the Deri is in trouble
Dani and Garry go to Y Felin for a briefing on what to do next week;  while waiting for Siôn to come back, Garry tells Dani, “I don’t want to worry you, but I think the Deri’s in trouble.   I have a feeling that Ed won’t be behind the bar much longer.”
Dani predictably panics about the wedding reception, and Garry tries to reassure her that even if Ed sold, the new owners would honour the booking.
"We could have a big bucket of chips in the chapel . . ."
“We could always ask Britt to make a big bucket of chips, and we could all share them in the chapel,” he suggests, sarcastically, but this does not go down well with Dani.
Siôn is taken in by Iolo's unexpected confidence . . .
Iolo phones to check his appointment is still valid, and Siôn wants to give him a lift there, but Iolo insists, “I can’t expect you to hold my hand – I’m the only one who can beat this thing!   Go, or Britt will be after your blood!”
. . . but it does not last very long
However, when his father has left, he does not look so confident.
"Why would Meic pay for Mark's car repairs?"
Sheryl shows Wil’s presentation to Gethin, and then they go to the café for lunch;  Gethin thinks it strange that Meic paid Mark’s car repair bill at the garage.
Is there any computer this genius cannot sort out?
At the café, Hywel is casting his expert eye over Debbie’s iPad;  Meic still maintains, “If it’s a virus, I know where it came from – all those clothes and dress shops!”   Hywel hands the machine to Debbie and tells her to turn it back on;  It should now be working!
Ed becomes even more melancholy
At the Deri, Ed is feeling increasingly sorry for himself;  he tells Angela, “There’s a black cloud over this place – you lost the baby, I went off the rails, Gemma learned the truth about her mother’s death, and she stabbed Dani!   It’s my fault that Gemma moved out.”   Angela’s insistence that Gemma can look after herself does nothing to lighten his mood.
Iolo prepares himself for the frightening experience
Iolo puts on his jacket, steels himself for the experience, walks to the door,
He has taken the first step to recovery
momentarily hesitates, then goes out and strides along the street.
Siôn unveils his detailed requirements for next week
Siôn receives a text to say Iolo is at the clinic as he is about to hand out the lists of things to remember for Garry and Dani – an individual chart for each child, detailing all their activities.
"We won't be doing much relaxing," remarks Garry
Siôn assures them, “Now I can relax on holiday,” but Garry’s response is, “Good, because we won’t!|
Ed continues to lament, “I let everyone down – it’s no wonder Sioned left.   Who’d want to be with a loser like me?”
Angela is suddenly taken by surprise, and struggles to free herself
He hugs Angela, but she struggles to escape from his embrace, and he goes to sit on the stairs.
"Just come home – he needs you!"
Angela phones Sioned, and leaves her a message;  “The Deri’s in trouble, I’m really worried about Ed – Just come home, he needs you!”
