DJ is off in the 4x4
Cadno is on her phone to a delivery driver, giving directions (in English), then DJ goes off in the 4x4 to pick something up, and she goes in for a cup of tea with Marian, who admonishes her for having had no breakfast.
Marian strongly objects to selling Penrhewl
Cadno says she is considering selling the whole farm, with Eifion.   Marian is against the idea;  “Your place, and mine, is here.   You’d be lost without the farm.”   Cadno is not sure that sharing the farm with Eileen and Jim would be easy.
Researching soup recipés?   Pull the other one
Rather than preparing to open the café, Debbie is studying something on her iPad, but tells Meic she is researching soup recipés.
Meic is summoned on an urgent mission
He has a phone call to go and see his bank, and leaves immediately.
The seamstress explains how she can repair the coat
In the Apêl Maenan shop, Megan is bewailing the poor quality of clothes which are donated;  Gwyneth finds a good coat with a torn lining and says she could repair it, as she learned sewing in prison.   Megan is sceptical, but Gwyneth sets to work.
Eifion turns down the offer, but does take the tin of cakes
Outside the shop, Jim sees Eifion, who has just had a text from Cadno, wanting to talk, and says he is sure they can come to an understanding, intimating there might be a little more money on the table, and giving him some cakes, but Eifion turns him down.
Cadno, after she has given the driver a piece of her mind
As Marian washes up, Cadno has another call from the driver;  “Switch off your satnav and use a map!” she shouts at him.
"We only use organic feed here!" she tells DJ
DJ arrives back with his bargain bags of turkey feed, but Cadno is furious that it is not organic.   Despite DJ’s protestations that no-one would know, she orders him to take them back.
Yes, she does look as if she is getting rather wound up
She tells Marian that she is really getting fed up now.
At APD, Dai arranges to start work on Garry’s flat on Wednesday, and tells Jim he has turkeys on the brain;  “At least here you are in the dry in bad weather,” he says.
"Glyn Edwards dropped dead yesterday!"
When Jim argues that it is good to be out in the fresh air, Dai replies, “Tell that to Glyn Edwards – he dropped dead yesterday!”
"Glyn from Whitland?   Glyn-y-Wern?"
Jim looks stunned;  “Glyn from Whitland?   Glyn-y-Wern?” then bursts into peals of laughter.
"Best news I've had for ages!"
“Calm down, or you’ll be next,” advises Dai, but Jim rushes out , saying this is the best news he has had for ages.
At last, the delivery arrives
At Penrhewl, Eifion is enjoying a cup of Marian’s tea, when the delivery of antibiotics finally arrives;  Marian tells Eifion he should be ashamed, trying to influence Cadno, and when she walks out, Cadno wants to look at the figures again.
She ponders whether it would be enough money, and doubts if she could leave Penrhewl, although Eifion tells her he does not miss the farm at all.
Then Jim bursts in, with, “Sad news,” as he describes it;  “Glyn-y-Wern has died – dropped dead yesterday.”
Eifion is stunned by the news
Eifion is quite upset by this;  “Lovely bloke,” he says, and Jim adds that he had no children to take over.
“That means no offer,” says Cadno.
Jim never struck me as one who would know hymns
Jim quotes from the hymn “Rhagluniaeth fawr y nef,” (by David Charles 1762–1834) – “Great providence of heaven, what wonders shine,” he says.
Eileen proves to be a satisfied customer
Eileen is looking for a coat in Megan’s shop, and it just so happens that the one expertly repaired by Gwyneth exactly fits the bill, and she buys it for £20, much to Megan’s delight.
Megan sees there is money to be made
Now she wants Gwyneth to repair any reasonable clothes as they come it, and Gwyneth agrees.
"Has someone died?" asks DJ
As Eifion, Jim and Cadno sit in a sombre manner around the table, DJ comes in and asks, “Has someone died?”
“Yes,” says Eifion, and Cadno adds, “The guy who wanted to buy Penrhewl.”   DJ concludes, “If there’s no buyer, there’s no sale,”
Eifion sarcastically replies, “The clue is in the fact he’s dead!”   Jim warns that Eileen is getting fed up with the affair, and if he is not careful, he will end up with no buyer at all.   Eifion asks, “What are the new terms you mentioned this morning?”
“That was this morning — a lot has happened since then,” Jim tells him, “You know what our price is – if you want to sell, then sell!”   After talking to Cadno, Eifion and Jim shake hands on the deal.
Eileen is very impressed with Jim's business acumen
Back in the village, Jim finds Eileen in her new coat, and tells her the good news.   He emphasises that he drove the hard bargain with his good head for business, and knew that Eifion would crack.   “That, and the fact the would-be buyer has snuffed it!”
Dai is about to have another moan
As they embrace on the seat outside APD Dai comes out and grumbles, “So this is where you are – canoodling!”   Jim replies, “You ought to try it some time – it might improve your mood!”
Meic gives Eifion a free coffee;  Debbie want to know why
Eifion has a coffee in the café and tells Meic the news, adding that now Cadno will have something to pass on to the boys;  Meic gives him the coffee free.   Debbie wants to know the reason;  “Have you won the pools or something?” and suggests he could buy her a yacht.
“If I had, I might buy you a rowing boat,” he jokes, then looks at her iPad, finding that she has been looking at clothes.
Meic buys Debbie the Parka she wanted
After a moment’s thought, he presses the “Order” button for the £190 Parka she was looking at.
Cadno and DJ have administered the antibiotics;  he tells her he is glad she is staying.
Marian is given the good news that the farm will not be sold
Then they meet Marian and tell her the good news;  her reaction is, “Hallelujah!”
DJ and Marian return to the farmhouse
DJ escorts Marian back to the farmhouse, as Cadno looks across the farm.
