Siôn is trying to dispose of bodies
Siôn goes to APD to see if they can help with the dead bodies in the wall, and explains that he means rats;  Dai is disappointed he did not bring “the lovely young woman from Patagonia,” with him.
"Yes, APD can solve your problem!"
Dai assures him that APD can solve his problem, and that it will be cheaper than calling in Pest Control.
"One week from now . . ."
Garry muses that a week from now, they will be having breakfast as husband and wife.   “Hopefully,” replies Dani, still worried about the rats, and lack of a best man;  “Does there have to be one?” Garry asks.   Then Siôn phones to tell them that APD are getting rid of the rats this morning.
Gwyneth sees a chance to haggle
As Diane is putting large bags of ironing into her car, Gwyneth suggests a mutually advantageous solution;  she and Sioned will help with ironing when she is busy, if Diane will drop the Unit rent to £200.   Diane agrees to this proposition.
"You want me to get rid of the rats?"
Eifion is drinking tea when Dai comes in with a wheelbarrow and long green gauntlets, for Eifion to use at Bethania.   “You’re an ex-farmer, you must eats rats for breakfast!” he says, and taunts Eifion,
"You're not scared of rats, are you?"
“You’re not scared of rats, are you?”
A decrepit step-ladder, held together with string
Eifion insists he has to fix the guttering first, and once outside, looks at the insecure downpipe and the rickety old step-ladder, formulating a plan.
Dani's shortlist of candidates for the best man vacancy
Garry is using the cash machine while Dani suggests names for a best man;  Garry rejects Iolo, after his performance last time, then Dani says, “Colin?   He’s not as daft as he looks.”   Garry then destroys her list.
"We still can't afford it!"
When Sioned arrives for work, Gwyneth announces what she has accomplished, but Sioned is insistent that they cannot afford £200, and anyway, she does not like ironing.
Siôn finds Dani and Garry in the café, and tells them that rat disposal is in progress, but he did notice there was no best man at the rehearsal.
Garry is getting tired of this best man business
This starts Dani off again, and Garry walks out, saying, “Stop nagging!”
The "accident victim", writhing in pain
Outside APD, Eifion sets up the scenario, lies on the ground, pushes over the ancient steps and loudly cries out in pain.
Diane is not too pleased with Dai
Diane rushes out and urges him not to move;  when Eifion tells her that the ladder is rotten, she looks accusingly at Dai.
"I think I may be able to walk"
When Angela has examined him and he maintains that the pain in his lower back is easing, they get him to his feet and he hobbles off home with Angela.   Dai realises now that there is no-one to do the work in Bethania but him.
Sioned prefers working at Gwyneth's
Sioned prefers to be working at Gwyneth’s, where nobody can see them, “And where do we do the ironing?” she asks.
“Do you consider ironing other people’s clothes beneath you?” demands Gwyneth, “Are you ashamed of work, or of working with an ex-con?   This is our chance to move on.
Gwyneth loses her temper
Work isn’t something people like!”
However, Gwyneth cannot afford to lose Sioned;  “You get on my nerves at times, but you’re good with clothes.”
"I suppose Ed might help with the ironing"
Sioned thinks Ed might help with the ironing, as he likes doing it.
APD to the rescue – at a price
Dai and his barrow arrive outside Bethania, but he cannot tell Siôn how much it will cost until the job is done.   “Better get moving,” says Dai, “Dead rats don’t shift themselves.”
Dai demonstrates his protective equipment
He adds that smells do not affect Ashursts, pulling his scarf up over his mouth and nose.
Sioned thinks perhaps it is a better workspace
Gwyneth and Sioned are inspecting their space at the Units, when Megan walks in;
Megan does not like to see them so happy
they tell her that they are moving in, and how she has done them a favour.   She turns and leaves, without a word.
The "invalid", extracting maximum benefit from his "misfortune"
Eifion is stretched out on the sofa, remembering to grimace when Angela is looking;  he tells her, “I’m gutted, getting injured in my first week back at work.   I feel so guilty.”
Angela is taken in by this, and says, “That ladder belongs at St Fagan’s – you could have broken your leg!”
Dani and Garry are in the Deri, telling Siôn that the chapel now smells of disinfectant, but that should disperse.
"What's all this about rats in Bethania?"
Siôn’s satifaction is soon shattered when Megan arrives, demanding why she was not consulted about the rat problem, but Siôn assures her it is all sorted now.
Dai is about to produce the bill from APD
Then Dai presents his bill to Siôn, who quickly hides it behind the till.   When Megan suggests that Dai could act as best man, Garry dismisses the idea;
“I would be afraid of getting a bill from him!”
Dai will not be pleased when he finds this is missing
Diane calls to see how Eifion is, and presents him with one of Dai’s favourite bottles of whisky, “Knockando Single Malt”, which makes him laugh, when no-one is looking.
Siôn attempts to hide the truth from Megan
Megan hassles Siôn about the bill, and is eventually told that it is for £360, then she offers to pay it as he is so busy with the Deri.
Siôn replies that he has to assess the work before paying, and that they get a month before payment is due.   Megan is beginning to be suspicious;
He hopes that she does not suspect anything
“There’s not a problem with Bethania’s accounts, is there?” and he of course denies such a thing.
Garry remembers Brandon
When Dani arrives home, Garry is pondering and tells her he was always going to have Brandon as his best man;  he does not like to think of someone else in Brandon’s shoes.
"I'm Garry blinkin' no mates," he tells Dani
He admits he does not really have any friends, “Garry blinkin’ no mates!” he tells her.

"We can find you a best man!"
Dani is confident;  “If we can get rid of a plague of rats, we can find you a best man!”

26 November 2014

Commando Jones arrives, in battle gear
Siôn and Dani stand at the door of Bethania as Mark arrives, in camouflage gear and armed with a shovel;  “One wallop with this, and they’ll be off to rat heaven!” he promises.
In he goes to do battle with the foe
However, he does have some poison, and assures them he knows what he is doing;  “My middle name’s Crippen,” he jokes.
Another consignment of bags (where are they all kept?)
Gethin waits in a country lane with the van full of bags, which are transferred to Dean’s car.
Gethin makes some more money
Then a considerable amount of cash is handed over.
Diane tries to let another business unit
Diane thinks she has a solution to Gwyneth’s problem – she could rent a business unit, but balks at the cost, £300 per month.
Mark informs Siôn that he has put plenty of poison down, and points out, “The little devils live in wall cavities.”
"Houston, we have lift-off!"
Upon hearing some squeaking, he picks up his shovel, and creeps toward the source of the sound, saying (in English), “Houston, we have lift-off!”
Siôn and Dani about to escape
Siôn and Dani make a hasty retreat.
Gethin has a well-earned pint in the Deri and says he is excited about Dani’s wedding;
Gethin remarks on Iolo's track record with weddings
when he hears that Iolo will be there, he says, “You’re going, with your track record?”   Iolo argues that it has been a while since Ffion’s and Jinx’s wedding.
Sioned is of the opinion they cannot afford the rent
Sioned is adamant that the business unit offer is merely to line Diane’s pockets, and that they cannot afford that sort of money.   Gwyneth regards it as a challenge to raise production levels, but Sioned’s response is,
"I don't know if I would carry on"
“If I had to do it full-time instead as a hobby, I don’t know if I would carry on.”
An unwelcome visitor for Gethin
Gethin is dismayed to see Dean turn up at the garage;  armed with a wrecking bar behind his back, he tells Dean that they were not to meet there.   Dean complains that twenty of the bags had broken zips;  “I want another twenty, or the £4,000 back!”
Gethin tries to emulate the old Garry Monk
At this, Gethin brandishes the wrecking bar, walloping the filing cabinet with it, in best “hard man Garry Monk” style, announcing that there may be replacements next week, but the price has just gone up to £10,000 for 30 bags.
"Get out of my garage!"
Advancing with the weapon, he orders, “Now get out of my garage!”
"Mission accomplished," reports Mark . . .
Later, Mark comes into the Deri to report, “They’ve all gone, kaput, dozens of them!
. . . but Siôn is not eager to pay up
We agreed £300 cash,” but Siôn wants to see the evidence for himself;  Mark says that as a self-employed translator he should know about prompt payment.
"Focus on the future," intones Gwyneth
Gwyneth is massaging Sioned’s head, to help her relax;  “Get rid of negative thoughts,” she urges, “And focus on the future – what do you see?”
Sioned is somewhat blunt;  “Bills mounting up because of the rent!”   Gwyneth tries to convince her that Laura Ashley started on her kitchen table.
"The deal was just to kill them!"
Back at Bethania, Siôn wants to see the bodies;  “I left them where they were – the deal was to kill them!”   Depite Siôn’s protests that they will stink the place out, Mark is insistent he is not going to touch them.   Dani thinks that she can smell them already, and Mark says if he is not paid he will have to have a word with Megan or Anti Marian, so Siôn hands over the money.
Dani finds she is in a worse position that before
“We’re worse off than we were before!” laments Dani, and Siôn admits, “The thought of touching them turns my stomach!”   He hurries out of the chapel.
Iolo does not relish the job of unpaid nursemaid
Iolo is looking after the children, and is given detailed instructions of his duties before Britt dashes off to the chippy;  he does not look happy.
Dani considers the possibility of marrying while wearing a gas mask
Dani goes to Gethin’s, where he gives her a drink to calm her down.   Garry is at a car auction, and she says the wedding should be the best day of her life, “But it won’t be if we have to wear gas masks!”
Gethin takes charge;  “Get your coat.   We’re going to sort this out once and for all!”
Gwyneth has negotiated a lifting of Sioned's ban
Sioned is drinking in the Deri although she was banned, but Gwyneth told Siôn that she was considering a case of public slander, so the ban has been lifted.   Sioned tells her to be realistic – there is no way they can afford the rent, but Gwyneth is intent on “finding a way.”
"You're putting profit before my happiness!"
When Dani and Gethin arrive, Siôn tells them they can have the wedding in the Deri for £200, but Dani objects;  “You’re putting profit before Bethania, and even worse, you’re putting profit before my happiness!”
Gethin tells Siôn, “Get rid of the rats, or we have the reception somewhere else!”
Iolo puts his foot down – no more babysitting
When Britt arrives home and wants to arrange more babysitting for Iolo, he protests that instead he wants more shifts at the Deri, and also wants to be paid, as he intends to give up plumbing.
"I don't want to deal with you again!"
At home, Gethin leaves a phone message for Dean;  “I don’t want to deal with you or your gang again – understand?   It’s over!”
Siôn has dug himself into a hole
Siôn arrives home exhausted, admitting to Britt that he has dug himself into a hole;  he had to pay Mark for half a job, and now Gethin is threatening to take the reception elsewhere.
"A plague of locusts in the pulpit?"
When Britt mentions that Iolo wants to be paid, he concludes that God is punishing him for taking the money.   “Its Biblical!   After the rats, what is next?   A plague of locusts in the pulpit?”

"The net is closing on me!"
When Britt tells him they have to get an expert to get rid of the rats, Siôn fears, “The net is closing on me.   I won’t be able to pay back the money to Bethania.   Doing my best is never good enough!”
