Cadno insists on organic chick crumbs
Cadno insists on organic food for the turkey chicks, as that is Penrhewl’s trademark.   Jim wants her to give DJ more work, as he is getting hassled by Dai for spending time away from APD;  “Now you know how I feel,” replies Cadno
Huw has been looking for accommodation
Iolo is tidying up when Huw returns from Tomos ac Ellis with details of places to rent at Cwrtmynach.
"You may have a bit of OCD"
As Iolo scrubs the sink, Huw suggests he may have a bit of OCD, and Iolo admits that he has, and tells him he is on a waiting list for treatment.
Iolo will not accept money from his father
Private treatment would cost £800 and he will not accept his dad’s help to pay for that.
As Diane is telling Eileen in the shop that Jim is very proud of his chicks, Dani rushes in, exclaiming, “What’s this?   You and Dai buying Carreg Wen?   Garry and I are bidding for it, so back off!”
"If I want to bid for the house, I will!"
Diane insists that she has just as much right to buy the house for her retirement.
"You won't be bridesmaid if you bid today!"
Dani continues, “You won’t be bridesmaid if you bid today!”   This does not change Diane’s mind – “Stuff your bridesmaid!” is her response, “No-one tells me what to do!”
Eifion has had a better offer
At Penrhewl, Eifion breaks the news to Cadno that after careful thought, he is not selling his share to Jim, as he has had a better offer from Glyn Edwards from Whitland, who wants pasture for his sheep.   Despite Cadno’s insistence that he promised it to Jim, Eifion’s mind is made up.
"Eifion is not selling to Jim"
Cadno reports the bad news to DJ and Marian in the farmhouse;
"I can't believe Eifion would be so greedy"
Marian cannot believe that Eifion would be so greedy, and they conclude that it is the end of the road for Penrhewl.   Cadno says she can understand why he is doing this, as he will have plenty of money in the bank.
Jim is incandescent with rage
Meanwhile, Eifion goes to APD, where he gives Jim the important news, “I won’t be selling to you – I’ve found another buyer!”   Jim is understandably furious;  “You can’t do this – it’s underhand!   Do you realise how much the solicitor has cost me already?”
"We must talk again with Huw," says Siôn
Siôn hardly slept during the night, worrying, and suggests that they invite Huw to Y Felin before the children come home.
The auctioneer speaks in English for the benefit of visitors
In the Deri, the auction is about to begin, with several strangers there, and the auctioneer welcomes them;  suddenly Jim dashes in and drags Eileen away, saying it is very important.
Dai knows that all the fuss is about Penrhewl
Dai smiles, and tells Diane that it will be about Penrhewl – “Jim not getting his hands on it!”   The first lot is the old chapel.
Siôn resumes his interrogation
Huw and Iolo arrive at Y Felin, Huw gives Britt a scarf from India, and Siôn again asks questions about Huw’s plans, suggesting it is not too late for him to go to university.
Huw goes to take the call in the garden
Huw’s phone rings, but he rejects the call, then it rings again, and he goes into the garden to answer.
Now this is the lot that we are interesting in
Lot number two at the auction is the splendid house, birthplace of Eos Gwendraeth in 1726;  there are no bids at £400,000, so the auctioneer starts at 350 with a bid from Garry, which is countered by 360 from Dai.
"No, £400,000 is my absolute limit!" he tells Dani
This continues back and forth until 400, when Garry gives up, despite  being urged to continue by Dani.
Just when Diane was celebrating, a phone bid comes in
Diane is jubilant;  “The place is ours,” she tells Dai, but then the auctioneer’s assistant announces there is a phone bid of 410.
Dai is depressed at losing such an investment opportunity
Dai bids against the person on the phone until £470,000, when he also withdraws, much to Diane’s annoyance.
Huw has to get back to number 7 straightaway
Iolo is about to go and see why Huw is so long when he comes back in and is adamant he must go back to number 7 immediately.   When he has left, Britt says, “Sorry, Siôn, we can’t trust him!”
A group of dejected people at Penrhewl
At Penrhewl, Jim tells Cadno and Marian what Eifion has done.   Cadno says she can understand it, as Jim has no idea about farming.   Eileen begs Cadno to try and change Eifion’s mind, as she is the only one he is likely to listen to.   “If you won’t do it for Jim, do it for Bobi and Arthur,” she says.
"Right, what exactly is going on?"
Back at number 7, Iolo demands to know what is going on, and is told that the phone calls were from Huw’s wife – in London.   He tells Iolo that she has gone back to the cult, and may tell them where he is, so he must go somewhere else.
Huw exhibits the bag stuffed full of cash
When Iolo asks how he will pay for that, he shows him the thousands of pounds of cult money in his bag, and says he hopes to start a new life somewhere.
Cadno makes no progress with changing Eifion’s mind, but he points out to her that if they sold the whole farm together, they could make a much better price.
Instead of her changing his mind, he seems to be changing hers
She is doubtful what she could do, but he reminds her she has a degree;  “All sorts of doors would open for you,” he says, “This is a chance for both of us.   We would both have more possibilities if we had money in the bank.   It’s too good a chance to miss – and now’s the time to take it!”
