White van man delivers six cases to the salon
Dani has a delivery of six boxes of shampoo and protests that she only ordered two;  Gemma tells her the supplier must have made a mistake.
Sheryl realises Dani is not up to running the salon alone
When she tells Sheryl what has happened, Dani is told that this will cost a fortune and she should not have been left in charge.   Sheryl realises that she is needed there.
Colin has more important things on his mind than tidying the house
Colin is making last-minute arrangements for the charity cycle ride, and has no time for tidying the house, despite it being his turn, as Iolo reminds him.   Meanwhile Gaynor is reluctant to take part, and Hywel expected Rhys to pull out, as Sheryl is not coming.
Rhys gives Sheryl an ultimatum
Rhys, however, goes to Sheryl’s and says if she does not go on the ride, he will stay there all afternoon;  this approach is successful, and she joins the ride.
As the riders gather, Gemma asks Sheryl not to be too hard on Dani, as she is doing her best, but is really not up to it.
Gemma's plan is foiled by the "charming" Dani
Her plan is foiled when Dani arrives, reporting that she has negotiated that the firm will take all the boxes back and give a refund;  her “Dani charm” on the phone has worked wonders, and she has even learned that Nigel, the manager, also has a teddy bear called Nigel.    Sheryl is full of praise for her actions.
Colin leads the cyclists out of the village
Mark comments on Gaynor’s tricycle, and then they are off, with Colin in the lead.
Gemma goes back to Mark’s, and finds another mobile phone in a drawer.
Taid's surreptitious phone call to Meic
Jinx leaves for work, and Ffion has paperwork to do at school, but as soon as they have left, Taid phones Meic, and shortly afterwards the two of them, plus Jim, who is supposed to be at a site in Llanarthur, are sitting down to a poker game.
Ffion catches them, playing poker, and innocently joins them
Soon, just as the game is “getting interesting,” and the stakes are rising, Ffion returns, as she had forgotten the electricians were at school, and catches them;  pretending not to know how to play, she joins them.   “Is it like whist?” she asks innocently.
Gaynor, with her stabilisers, pedals up the hill
The cyclists reach that picnic table again, first Rhys and Sheryl, then Hywel and Gaynor.   Gaynor is getting tired of Hywel’s, “Sheryl this and Sheryl that!” but he assures her, “If I’d fancied her, I would have done something before now.”
Ffion plays dumb as she puts down her cards;  “Have I won again?” she exclaims, incredulously, with all the chips piled up in front of her.
Ffion is jubilant that she has beaten the three of them
When she mentions, “King high flush” they are suspicious.   “How do you know that term, if you’ve never played before?” says Meic, and she reveals that she learned to play at College.   All her winnings will go to the Soup Kitchen.
Cheering greets Gaynor's arrival
The riders arrive back in the village to applause from previously unseen villagers.
Sheryl is now willing for Ricky to have Wil's rod, and bike
Sheryl thanks Rhys for persuading her to take part, and as she goes home, she meets Meic and tells him that if he calls later, Ricky can have Wil’s bike and fishing rod  “He might as well use them.”
Iolo leaves another message for Ieuan Griffiths
Colin returns home, scattering his things all over the room which Iolo has been tidying;  as he is, “Sweating like a pig,” he goes for a shower, while Iolo leaves a phone message for Ieuan Griffiths, “Have you thought any more about me buying the house?   Please ring me back.”
Ffion tells Taid that, far from going behind her back, he can have his friends round whenever he likes, but he seems disappointed, saying that she should have learned to play poker from her grandad.
Arwen, with her mother and great-grandad
Then Jinx comes in, with Arwen, and insists he should cook as they both look tired, so the others sit with Arwen.
As Colin announces in the Deri that the ride raised £632, Dani bursts in, demanding, “Who has done this?” and shows around a distorted photo of herself.
The two distorted images, of Dani and Gemma
Far from being angry, as intended by Gemma, she is amused and has downloaded the app, with which she takes a photo of Gemma, which she similarly distorts, much to the amusement of those in the pub.   Gemma does not see the funny side of this.

Angela and Courtney enthusing over "Bubbles", the horse
Angela and Courtney are admiring the new horse, which they have named “Bubbles”;  “Look at those eyelashes,” says Angela, to which Eifion responds, “She’s a mare, not a supermodel.”   Then Cadno arrives, refers to the horse as “Twinkletoes” and tells him they should be dealing with the sheep feed.
Gaynor is initially sceptical about the stabilisers
Rhys is eager to get on with the bike ride, and boasts that he will beat Hywel, who surprises Gaynor with his purchase of a set of stabilisers, real adult-sized ones.
Rhys reveals his infatuation with Sheryl
As Gaynor is telling them not to go too far, Rhys sees Sheryl and invites her to come along, but Hywel warns him off
After they have set off, Gaynor calls at the salon to book a trim, and asks Dani and Gemma to sponsor her for the Charity Bike Ride.   Dani goes one better and says she will go on the ride, so Gemma has to do the same.
Dani is impressed by the "girlie" bike Garry has brought her
Later, Dani is ordering some shampoo online, but is interrupted by Garry bringing her a bike, complete with pink ribbons.
Gemma amends the quantity of "Whit a Whiw" shampoo from 2 cases to 6
Gemma encourages her to go for a quick spin (which we do not see), and while she is away, Gemma changes the shampoo order from two cases to six, and presses “Place Order.”
If Cadno continues humping these bags, she will do herself a mischief
Cadno is overdoing things, attempting to lift heavy bags of feed, but will not listen to Eifion as he says she should go home, and come back when she has calmed down.   “Calmed down?” she shouts, “When you and Angela have destroyed our lives?  I should never have trusted you – you’ve spoilt everything.”
Hywel's fatherly advice does not go down well with Rhys
After the ride, Hywel is recovering from his exertions in the Deri, and Rhys asks if he should call a paramedic.   When Rhys says he will call on Sheryl to see if she is all right, Hywel comments, “Or is it because you fancy her?   She’s too old for you!”   This irritates Rhys, who replies, “Newsflash, Dad — not all women fancy you – some have more taste!”   He advises Gaynor that the old man needs to go home and have a sit down in his slippers.
Sheryl calls Rhys, "Just a child."
Rhys then goes to Sheryl’s where he tries to commiserate with her situation, recalling how he felt when baby Gwen was taken away, but Sheryl tells him that she cared for Wil for twelve years.   “He’s my boy and now he’s not here!   Anyway you’re just a child yourself,” which puts Rhys in his place.
Cadno finds herself threatening Eifion with a knife
Cadno opens a bag of feed with a knife, when she feels the stabbing pain again, but when Eifion tries to help, she pushes him away and points the knife at him.   “If you really think that will help the children, do it!” he urges her.
Cadno seizes Arthur and Bobi and makes a quick exit
Shocked by what she has done, she collects the boys from the farmhouse, and hurries back to the village
Gaynor engages in some mechanical work
When Rhys returns home, Gaynor is struggling to attach the stabilisers to her bike, and refuses Hywel’s offer of help.   Hywel comments, “Don’t tell me Rhys has been rejected!   She’s old enough to be your mother, and she’s been through enough without you making it worse!”   After he has stalked off, Hywel tells Gaynor that he cannot be trusted with women, but Gaynor is confident, “Sheryl can look after herself – she has been round the block more times than you!”
Dani comes back to the salon and sits down for a chat with Gemma;  she dreams of having her own business – she does not want to be a “skivvy” for ever.
Cadno admits, "I wanted to kill him!"
Cadno gets back home and is horrified at what she nearly did;  Sheryl tries to reassure her that she did not actually do anything, but Cadno insists, “I wanted to kill him, I was so angry with him!”   When Sheryl tries to tell her that family is what is important, not a couple of fields, Cadno says that the farm is part of the family – it is their future.   “I have to be patient,” she says ominously, “But I’m not going to let them win.”
This frightens Sheryl, who urges, “Forget it, before things go too far!”

Diane is ordering Dai around as per usual
Diane gives Dai a list of jobs that need doing, and he protests that he is dealing with paperwork;  then DJ arrives, causing a great deal of friction, but Diane lays down the law, “He’s here now – tough!”
Dai plots to get DJ to perform his tasks
After Dai shows DJ his list of tasks, and DJ volunteers to mow the grass, and completes it in good time, Dai thinks he may be on to a good thing.   The next task is painting the fence, but Dai warns DJ not to breathe a word to Diane.
Debbie visits Meic, with her list of café duty rotas and Ricky in tow;  Meic invites him to come fishing, and gets out Wil’s fishing rod for him.
Meic giving fishing tips to Ricky, who has Wil's rod
As he is explaining the finer points of angling to Ricky, Sheryl arrives and recognises Wil’s rod, insisting on taking it home with her and making quite a scene.   “Sorry, Ricky,” she says, “He’s using you – you’re not his grandson!”
"Wil has only just gone, and you have a new grandson already!"
Later Meic goes to see Sheryl, who irrationally says that Wil has only been gone four days, but Meic has found himself a replacement grandson already;  Meic says she has to face the fact that Wil has gone.
Eifion with his peace-offering before going inside
Eifion knocks on Gwyneth’s door and gives Cadno a box of chocolate biscuits, then haltingly admits that he did not in fact have “the snip”.   Cadno is infuriated that he sat with the doctor for half an hour, while she was there, “like a lemon” in the waiting room.
"You never intended to have it – it was just a plot!" shouts Cadno
“You let me believe that you had it!   We had discussed it, and it was your idea!   You never intended to have it – it was simply a plot to get me out of there!”   As he retreats, she goads him, “Go on, run back to Angela!”
Eifion reports, "Job done!" expecting a reward
In fact that is just what he does:  visits her house, triumphantly boasting that he has told Cadno everything, it is all out in the open, and no more lies.   Angela is not so eager to kiss and make up;  she says that she is busy and will text him.
When Ricky asks Debbie for a packed lunch, she announces that he is not going fishing, as she wants help in the café, and they do not need fish, there are fish fingers in the freezer.
Debbie is also of the opinion that Ricky is being treated as a Wil-substitute
Then she marches round to Meic’s to tell him she does not want him using Ricky as a substitute for Wil, and initially refusing to listen to his point of view.   When he says that he gets on well with her and Ricky, and the boy needed something to do, her mood softens and she says, “Pick him up in fifteen minutes.”
Cadno:  "Now, lots of babies to replace Bobi and Arthur"
Angela is not as sensible as might have been hoped, as she is soon back at the farm, where Eifion admits he does stupid things sometimes, but, “Can we try again?” he simpers.   As they embrace, Cadno approaches, saying, “Ah, how lovely!”   She addresses Angela:  “For a moment I thought you really cared about me, but you just wanted me out of the way – and you succeeded!   Now stage two – lots of babies to replace Bobi and Arthur!”
When Angela accuses her of bullying Eifion, Cadno continues, “You bullied me out of my home!   You and Courtney have been falling out for years, and your own mother didn’t want you!”
As Meic and Ricky are ready to leave, Sheryl arrives in a more conciliatory mood, saying she is not ready yet to get rid of Wil’s possessions, but should not have said what she did.   Debbie assures her that it will get easier with time.
"Superman" is under the impression that he has fooled Diane
When Diane returns, she is impressed with the work that has been done outside, and DJ describes Dai as “superman”.
"I told you it would work, didn't I?"
Diane says that after all that work, Dai needs to put his feet up, and when he has gone, she remarks to DJ, “I told you it would work, didn’t I?”
Cadno details what she should have done to Eifion
Cadno and Sheryl are eating the chocolate biscuits;  Cadno laments, “Why was I so stupid?   Angela doesn’t belong there, but I walked away and handed it to them.   I almost got the sheep castration band and did the job myself!”

26 May 2014

Anita is determined that she must get rid of DJ
After the weekend, Anita is not convinced it is a good idea for DJ to be there, so she tells him to look for a flat, handing him the local paper.   DJ has just cooked breakfast, which Meic finds delicious, and invites him for a day’s fishing;  “No,” replies Anita, “He’s looking for a flat today.”
Anita telling Sheryl what she ought to do, before being told to leave
Then she goes to Sheryl’s, admonishing her for not opening the salon, but Sheryl is busy preparing for Cadno’s arrival, and rather pointedly invites her to leave.
Cadno finishes her packing, and despite Angela’s entreaties to stay a few more days, is determined to leave for Gwyneth’s house.
Cadno, reluctantly leaving Penrhewl
Outside, after loading the car, she tells Eifion she will soon be fit to work again;  “Barbie doesn’t want to get manure on her designer boots!   Thanks for having the treatment;  it means a lot for the boys’ future.”
Angela, keeping a watchful eye on Cadno and Eifion
Then she hugs Eifion, with Angela watching in the background.
When Cadno arrives at Sheryl’s, she is welcomed and then goes to collect the boys from Elinor’s.   She would prefer a place in the country where there is room for the boys to run round, and might have some chickens.
Sheryl tells Meic he need not keep checking up on her
Later, Meic calls and is surprised to see Cadno there, but says that it is good that Sheryl has some company;  she assures him that she is all right, and does not need baby-sitting.
Angela is uneasy about all these lies
At the farm, Angela is uneasy, telling Eifion, “I can’t do this, all these lies!   You should tell her.”   Eifion comes up with reasons not to do so, and says, “We’re supposed to be happy – we have the place to ourselves.”   Angela insists that after her chequered past, she wants this relationship to be honest, “But we’re already lying;  what hope is there?”
When Eifion promises, “A clean slate, no more lies,” Angela challenges him, “Prove it, today!”
While Sheryl reads to Bobi, Eifion chickens out again
Later, Eifion calls to see Cadno, but again fails to tell her the truth, instead enquiring if she has settled in.   Cadno tells him he should be enjoying a romantic dinner with Angela.
Cadno is blissfully ignorant of Eifion's secret
When Cadno pops out to the shop for some chocolate, she bumps into Angela, and tells her of Eifion’s visit;  Angela asks, “Aren’t you angry?” but Cadno emphasises they must look to the future now, and she does not want to hold a grudge.   She says that she thought he would be in pain for days – perhaps he is growing up.
DJ comes back, reporting to Anita that the flats were either too expensive or smelled awful, and that as neither of them is going to tell Meic, he might as well continue to stay there, although she is determined to get him out.   At the Deri, Anita pours out her troubles to Diane, who concludes, “Don’t say that living with your ex and your toyboy is getting to you!”
Anita and DJ eventually get Diane to see their point of view
Then Diane invites DJ to join them, as Anita pleads with her to have him back at Bryntirion.   In the end, when DJ says it must be lonely for her at “Chez Sgaffalde”, she relents, and says that she will persuade Dai to agree.
Meic is doubtful that Dai will be in favour of the arrangement
When Anita tells Meic of the new accommodation for DJ, he is doubtful whether Dai will agree;   “He will, when Diane persuades him, Anita says.
Eifion goes to Angela’s, where she is cooking a meal for Courtney;  “Everything sorted?” she asks him.   “Almost,” is his reply.
She is angry;  “I know you haven’t told her – when will ‘the right time’ be?   I’ve been patient with you!”   He tries to persuade her to go upstairs with him, saying he has missed her, (presumably Courtney is not up there) and wanting one more chance, but Angela is uncertain when, and whether, she wants to see him again.

Eifion, about to knock, before he thinks better of it
He leaves and walks along to Gwyneth’s house, is about to knock on the door, but then changes his mind and strides away.
