Britt's one-woman Deri advertising campaign
In the salon, Britt publicises the Children’s service at Bethania this evening, and also the fact that there will be free sherry and mince pies at the Deri for anyone with one of her flyers.
"Gwern will be at home with me!"
Gwyneth tells her that Garry will not be seeing Gwern tomorrow, as they will spend the day at home together.
Ffion, about to make a start on the carrots
At the soup kitchen, Gethin produces a bag of carrots for Ffion, wearing a snowman jumper, to peel.
"It's none of our business!"
Siôn is also there, and is moaned at by Britt that Garry will not be able to see Gwern, but he tells her it is none of their business.
"We're off to the service at the chapel"
Anita receives a text, saying, “We’ve landed,” just as Meic and Gabriella prepare to go to the chapel.   Anita is rather put out, and tells Meic to come straight home.
Hywel cannot keep away from the place
Hywel is, as usual, at Sheryl’s, where she tells him that with the change of plans, they will not be able to spend much time together.   Hywel understands, but says, “We have a couple of hours!”
He continues the "chatting-up" process
He adds, “The best present you can give me is not changing your mind,” and she kisses him.
Hywel continues, “I’d better go, but I’d love to be with you tomorrow.”
She reveals that Meic has cancer . . .
She begs him to stay with her, as she has had some bad news – “Meic has cancer, and there’s not much hope.   I don’t know what I shall do without him!”
. . . and Hywel is only too willing to comfort her
Hywel assures her, “You’re stronger than you think!   I’ll be here to look after you,” and he kisses her again.
The children's service in full swing
At the children’s service, they sing, “Away in a manger,” and Gwyneth films it on her phone.   Chester complains that it is boring and exactly the same as last year;
"At least look as if you're enjoying it!"
Britt urges him, “At least look as if you’re enjoying it!”
Even in the chapel, the advertising continues . . .
At the end of the service, Siôn thanks everyone, then Britt jumps up to announce, “There is free sherry and mince pies in the Deri for everyone with this flyer!”
. . . provoking unfavourable comment from Gwyneth
This does not go down well, with Gwyneth remarking to Siôn that it is difficult to tell the difference between the Deri and the chapel these days.
Siôn is becoming angry with Britt . . .
He admonishes Britt;  “Thank you for giving people even more reason to judge me!”
. . . but she is thinking about getting more customers
Britt dismisses this with, “I’ve got a pub to run – a busy one, I hope!”
As Sheryl and Hywel are in each other’s arms on the sofa, the buzzer sounds, and by the time Anita comes up with Darren and his family,
Hywel, just completing "the repair"
Hywel is again “carrying out repairs” on Sheryl’s laptop.   He excuses himself, saying, “Don’t try fixing it yourself again,” but Katie seems to be suspicious.
Ffion washing up . . .
As Ffion is washing up after the soup run, Gethin thanks her for helping;
. . . and receiving an unjustified cuddle from Gethin
when her phone rings, he has to remove it from her pocket, and stands unnecessarily close to her to retrieve it.   Gethin says he is helping out in Swansea on Christmas Day as, “Everyone deserves a Christmas dinner.”
She threatens to drag him out of bed
Ffion invites him over for lunch on Friday, warning, “If you’re not there by 1:00pm, I’ll drag you out of bed!”
Meic is scoffing chocolates when Anita returns;  “I came straight home, like a good boy,” he reports to her, and then is astonished when Darren walks in.
Meic greets Darren . . .
After hugging his father, Darren is introduced to Gabriella from Patagonia.
. . . who is then introduced to Gabriella . . .
“I’ve been looking forward to meeting my brother,” she says, enthusiastically, but Darren is amazed;
". . . my sister?"
“Brother?” he asks.   Meic explains the situation.
Gwen, Geraint and Gwynfor at the bar
In the Deri, Britt insists that she was right in her advertising, as the Deri is full of customers, but Siôn maintains that the service was neither the right place or the right time to make her announcement.
“If you’re going to be like that, I’m going!” she says, flouncing out, on the way asking Iolo to help his father at the bar.
Iolo, John Post and Gwynfor
Iolo, however, has other ideas;  he walks to the bar and reminds Siôn, “I don’t work here any more;  after you’ve served Gwynfor, I’ll have a pint of lager, please.”
Britt makes an offer to Gwyneth . . .
Britt goes straight to Gwyneth’s, and tries to change her mind about Gwern.   She invites Gwyneth and Gwern to Y Felin for Christmas Day, so he will be able to play with the children.   “And so Garry will have the day with his son,” replies Gwyneth, and adds,
. . . but Gwyneth see though it and refuses
“Gwern and I will be staying here tomorrow!”
Having put the children to bed, Katie asks Sheryl,
Katie enquires about, "Any affairs?"
“Any news then?   Anyone got married, or had a baby – or an affair?”   But before she can say any more, Darren returns, angry that he had not been told about this sister of his.
Anita tells Darren that Meic is happy
Later, Anita goes over to see him, telling him that Meic is happy that he has found Gabriella, although she is not particularly enthralled about it.
"Any chance of a pint"
In the Deri, Britt again moans at length to Siôn about Gwyneth’s intransigence, and thirsty John Post has to interrupt them;  “Any chance of a pint?” he asks.   As Gethin and Ffion talk to Hywel, a deep voice can be heard in the background, “Sheryl, perfect timing!”
Hywel is jealous – someone else is kissing his conquest
Hywel looks round and sees Gwynfor, with some mistletoe, kissing her.
As the assembled company sing, “O come, let us adore Him,” with Gwynfor taking the bass part,
Ffion is summoned home to see her daughter
Jinx rings Ffion, saying that Arwen is asking for her, so she has to leave.
Iolo will be staying with Macs
Iolo says he is staying with Macs over Christmas.
"I'd like to kiss you in front of everyone!"
Hywel asks Sheryl, “ Do you know what I’d like to do now?   Kiss you in front of everyone!   Go and ask Gwynfor for his mistletoe!”
How did the wallet fall out of his pocket and get under the sofa?
When he cannot find his wallet, Sheryl reveals he left it under her sofa.
"You had no right to drag Darren back here!"
Meic is angry when Anita returns home;  “You had no right to drag Darren back here without checking with me first!   I didn’t want him to find out like this – but now I have no choice but tell him I’m dying.
"What you've done is unforgivable!"
What you’ve done is unforgivable!”
