"As soon as she says sorry, you get your camera back!"
Meic is wheezing by the time he gets to Dai’s, and explains he has been rushing;  “I’d like to see that daughter of yours rushing to apologise,” Dai replies, “As soon as she says sorry, you get your camera back!”
Meic protests that he wants to film the Nativity Play at the chapel, but Dai is unmoved;
"She embarrassed me in front of everyone!"
“She embarrassed me in front of everyone in my local!   You know where the door is – go through it, you traitor!”
Diane arrives with an out of court settlement
Meanwhile, Diane is visiting Eifion;  she tells him, “As long as it is the end of the matter, you can have £1,500;  otherwise we’ll go to court and take our chances.”
"All right – but it must be in cash!"
He agrees, providing it is in cash.
Jinx practises poses for his "Living Statue"
Mark delivers to Jinx and hears about the Living Statue idea to raise money for the soup kitchen;  “I saw loads of them in Spain,” he tells Jinx,
"He didn't move a muscle – until a dog peed on him!"
“One of them didn’t move a muscle for half an hour – until a dog peed on him!   But it wouldn’t be much of an achievement for you, as you don’t move much.”
Sioned wonders what he is up to
Eifion limps pitifully up the stairs to the Deri flat, and there offers to buy Ed’s hifi, as it is such a good one;  he offers Sioned £400,
She manages to haggle him up to £600
but she manages to beat him up to £600.   “I’ve got enough time to sit and listen to top quality sound,” he boasts.
Dai is still gathering evidence . . .
Downstairs, Dai keeps an eye on Eifion when he comes down, but Diane tells him she has settled with him;  Dai is furious when he hears Eifion is getting £1,500,
. . . but Diane informs him the matter is settled . . .
but Diane reminds him they do not want APD’s name dragged through the mud,
. . . and Eifion feels very pleased with himself
and takes the money over to Eifion.
"You would be a natural to play Herod!"
Dai goes to the bar for another pint, where Siôn mentions that Meic would be filming today, if he had a camera, and says that Dai would make a convincing Herod in the nativity play.
"Gabriella can do no wrong!"
“Who plays the angel?   Gabriella – she can do no wrong!” moans Dai.   Siôn tells him that no-one is an angel, and he does not know the half of it.
Siôn reveals the visa problem, and asks Dai to forget it
When Dai presses him further, Siôn reveals that Gabriella has outstayed her permitted six months and needs a visa if she stays longer.   “Please Dai, forget it;  if you have an ounce of sympathy for Meic and his daughter, just leave it.”
The Living Statue dress rehearsal
At Bethania, the nativity costumes are brought out for the dress rehearsal, Jinx comes in, dressed as an angel, and Mark drags him away to apply the necessary paint to make him a “Living Statue”.
The rat-eaten costumes are consigned to black sacks
Upon examining the contents of the chest, Siôn discovers that the rats have destroyed the nativity costumes, but the ladies volunteer to make some replacements.
Sioned delivers the hifi . . .
Sioned takes the hifi round to Eifion, and pointedly tells him, “I don’t think you’ve been hurt as badly as you say.   I know you, remember!
. . . and describes Eifion pretty succinctly
You’re lazy and willing to take advantage of anyone!”
Dai goes round to see Meic, demanding to see, “Your señorita.”
"She should be kicked out!"
He tells Meic, “She’s done something worse than throwing a pint over an innocent man – she’s living here illegally!   She should be kicked out!”
Meic remonstrates, to no avail
When Meic objects, Dai tells him he wants an apology and a decent Christmas present.
Mark studies the spraygun instructions . . .
Jinx is uneasy as Mark wields a spraygun in the garage, boasting that he was spraying old Escorts outside the house while Jinx was still playing with Lego.
. . . and then directs it at Jinx
“I’m not a car, so don’t do too much.   I must have lost my marbles!” wails Jinx, and dons facemask and goggles.
Sorting through the discarded clothes . . .
In the Business Units, the ladies are sorting though clothes suitable for the nativity, despite Siôn telling them they also need a camel costume.
. . . Angela rather fancies this one, and Sioned offers to alter it
Angela finds a blue dress she likes, and Sioned offers to alter it to fit her.   “Why?” asks Angela, “Are you going to tell me what’s going on with you and Eifion?”
Sioned explains what Eifion is doing with his compensation
When Sioned tells her that he has bought their hifi, as he had money burning a hole in his pocket, Angela quickly leaves.
"I showedhim what kind of woman she is!"
Dai is back home, relating to Diane how he announced to Meic about his illegal immigrant daughter;  “I showed him what kind of woman she is!   We’ll all be better off when she’s kicked out!”
"How can you be so stupid?"
“How can you be so stupid?   This will not do Meic’s health any good – he’s ill!” Diane scolds him, and eventually spells it out to him.   “He has cancer – lung cancer, and doesn’t have much time left!   That’s why he’s trying to do so much in such a short time!”
Dai is very deflated
Dai is incredulous, his face falls and he is, for once, silent.
Angela finds Eifion on his feet again . . .
When Angela returns home, Eifion is jigging around in time to the music on the new hifi, without his crutches, and explains he is trying to manage without them.
. . . and tells him a thing or two
She emphasises that the compensation money was for him to live on, not for a hifi.
Meic is glad to have his camera back
Thoroughly crestfallen, Dai goes back to Meic’s to return the camera;  “Life’s too short to hold a grudge,” says Meic, and they shake hands.
Dai is very emotional . . .
“You’re a very special man, Meic, and I’m so sorry to hear your bad news,” Dai tells him, with tears in his eyes.   Meic insists he does not want people feeling sorry for him, but Dai admits that he would have gone to pieces in the same situation.
Meic resolves to do some filming at the rugby club, “The boys training with Hywel,” and tells Dai, “There might be room for you in the background, preparing the pitch – we’ll see how you behave.”
"Please tell Gabriella that I am very sorry!"
Dai asks him to tell Gabriella that he is very sorry, and Meic confides that she and Anita have given him a new lease of life.   “If Gabriella had to go home, that would be the end of me, for sure!”
Dai Ashurst is reduced to tears
The tears roll down Dai’s cheeks.
