"A day in Anglesey was the best present I could have"
Meic visits Debbie to apologise for Anita’s outburst, and to assure her that a day in Anglesey was the best present he could have been given, visiting places that were important to him;  “Perhaps we shall go in the New Year,” he tells her.
He congratulates her on how she is running the café
He gives back the account books which he found in good order;  “You’ve been working hard – sorry I’ve not been here much lately.   You’re a determined woman, and you’re going to be behind the counter until you get your pension.
"You'll be all right – I'll see to that!"
You’ll be all right – I’ll see to that!”
Shery, washing some rather blurred hair
As Sheryl is actually doing someone’s hair in the salon, Anita calls, asking if Sheryl has seen Meic.
"Wil is coming home for Christmas!"
She also announces that Wil is coming home for Christmas,
She is so elated she almost forgets Hywel
which cheers Sheryl no end.   Anita asks if she can provide accommodation for Darren, Katie and Alys as well, as there is no room with Gabriella staying in Meic’s house.
A box of photos of Anglesey
Gabriella has found a box of photos of Anglesey which Meic has not seen for years;  he sees one of himself with skinny legs and short trousers.   He remembers Nain Gwalchmai, always in curlers and apron, except at chapel, and Uncle Wil, who lived in Liverpool but was buried in Anglesey;  “He didn’t want the Scousers stealing his headstone.
Meic knows where he wants to be buried
I want to be buried at Llan Church – with Mam.”
Sheryl panics when she sees Nansi
As Sheryl is in a hurry to get more presents, she sees Nansi Furlong getting out of her car;
"What are you doing here?"
“What are you doing here?” Sheryl shouts.   “And good morning to you too,” replies Nansi, as she goes to the door of number 10.
"Hang on, I recognise that voice"
As Anita opens the door, Meic hears a familiar voice;
Meic is not particularly pleased to see her
“Nansi!   What are you doing here?   It’s a long way from Amlwch to Cwmderi, but obviously not far enough!”   Nansi describes Gabriella as, “Very pretty, considering who your father is!”
Gabriella admits she phoned Nansi as she thought it would make Meic feel better.  Anita snarls, “What?   The woman who made his life hell?”
"You did a fair bit of that yourself!"
and Nansi immediately counters with, “You did a fair bit of that yourself!”
"That was when I was young and foolish!"
Gabriella says that he spoke of the fun they had together, but Meic points out, “That was when I was young and foolish!”
Nansi then has a dig at Anita;  “You didn’t know him very well if he kept quiet about his little girl,” and tells them she is not going without a cuppa.   “There’s a café down the road!” advises Anita.
"Latest news — Nansi Furlong's back in town!"
Sheryl dashes across the road to the café and alerts Debbie that Nansi has arrived;  Sheryl can only think that Kevin is coming out of prison.   As Debbie leaves the café in Gwen’s care and they head towards Meic’s, Sheryl asks,
"What if Kevin has done something to himself?"
“What if Kevin has done something to himself?” but Debbie replies, “Well, they wouldn’t send Nansi Furlong to tell us!   She’ll be upset when I’ve finished with her!”
Sheryl and Debbie will not take "No" for an answer
Despite Anita telling them, “We’re busy!” they push their way in, where Nansi says,
"Nice to hear your sweet voice again!"
“Debbie!   Nice to hear your sweet voice again!”   She reveals she was on her way to see Kevin, as it is Christmas and she is his mother,  and accuses Debbie of making trouble, “With Meic not well.”
Nansi mentions Meic being "not well"
Sheryl is devastated when Meic admits that he is dying of cancer,
Sheryl is stunned by the news
and she stands in the street, stunned, so Debbie invites her to the café flat.
Off they go again . . .
Meanwhile, Anita and Nansi are figuratively at each other’s throats again;
. . . until Meic stops the "pantomime"
Meic protests;  “If I’m too ill to go to Anglesey, I’m certainly too ill to listen to this pantomime!”
Anita tells Nansi, “You go and see that son of yours and shout at him, instead of coming here!” but Meic tells both Anita and Gabriella to go for a walk for a while.
"Peace at last"
“Peace at last,” says Nansi, but Meic warns her, “Stop bragging, or you’ll be out of the door too!”   He makes her a cup of tea and explains that he did not want everyone to know, so they would not change the way they behaved towards him.   “Denzil was lucky – he went without a fuss,” he continues,
"You can write your will"
but Nansi tells him he has a chance to see friends and family, and write his will.
"You're not on it!"
“You’re not on it!” he tells her, and Nansi replies she does not want an ugly old china dog from him.   Meic recalls they had some fun, “And a lot of arguments!” adds Nansi, “If it weren’t for Kevin, we would just have had one summer of fun and then moved on.”
Sheryl still cannot come to terms with Meic's situation
Anita goes to Debbie’s, finding Sheryl still there;  Sheryl tells her Wil is going to be heart-broken, and understands now why Darren and the family are coming.
"Life would be a lot easier without her!"
When Sheryl goes back to the salon, Anita tells Debbie that Gabriella is not as innocent as she looks, and life would be a lot easier without her.
"What should I tell Kevin?"
As Nansi leaves, she asks what she should tell Kevin;  Meic tells her it would be best to say nothing, then warns her,
"Drive carefully!"
“Drive carefully – I don’t want to arrive at the Gates and find you made it before me!”
Nansi Furlong leaves
Tearfully, she drives away.
Meic insists he is glad Nansi came
Gabriella apologises for causing trouble, but Meic insists he really is glad Nansi came.
When Anita returns, he tells her that it was not Gabriella’s fault.
"I have to tell the truth . . . as soon as possible!"
“I’ll tell you something else,” he says, “I have to tell the truth to the important people in my life – I can’t wait.   I must go and see Kevin, and tell Darren, as soon as possible!”
