Siôn tells all kinds of lies about the translation

Siôn makes excuses for not finishing a translation job on time, and tells Britt it is the first time he has missed a deadline.   

"This bill is for the time when I was here"

Ed offers advice that they should not ignore the bills, like he did, although some of those that have arrived today are for the period when he was in charge.   Britt says he should pay, but Siôn overrules her.

"You're too soft on him!"

“You’re too soft on him,” she says, and asks if he regrets buying the Deri, but he asks her for some peace to get on with the translation.

Sioned gets less than she had expected

Upstairs, Sioned is not satisfied with what Gwyneth pays her for selling the clothes, and Ed is wondering how long they will have the roof over their heads.   

"Gemma, that's wonderful news!"

Then he has a phone call from Gemma, telling him that the CPS will not be bringing a case against her.

"I can deal with Mr Monk"

Gethin calls at the salon to apologise to Sheryl for ruining their friendship, but she says he was only showing his feelings.   He tells her that Garry is sending him to Llanelli on a delivery, “But I can deal with Mr Monk – keep him sweet until I want something!”

"I hope he realises you're just friends!"

As Gethin leaves, Hywel notices from across the street, and goes to check on Sheryl;  “I hope that he realises you are just friends,” he tells her, and Sheryl realises he is jealous.   “There’s nothing going on between us,” he says, but she reminds him they almost ended up in bed.   “Come up to Lwyncelyn to talk,” he invites her.

Gwyneth can now double the output

Gwyneth has a bargain little sewing machine, picked up on the internet for £40, and tells Sioned that she will be able to produce double the clothes now she has a capable machinist.   Sioned suspects that she is simply after cheap labour, but Gwyneth says she will pay for each garment made.

Britt is on the right track with Siôn's password 

Britt is on the computer at Y Felin, trying various passwords on Siôn’s bank account.   Garry has brought over some spreadsheet software for her to use for the Deri accounts, and offers her a loan if it is needed to help out.

She refuses, as Siôn would not approve, and warns him that if he has surplus money, it means that something dodgy is going on, so to be careful.   “I retired a while ago!” he assures her.

Britt has found some evidence

When he leaves, she returns to her task, and finds that the password “GWEN2014” gives her access to the account, where she finds a transfer from Bethania of £20,000.

Hywel is eager to get her drunk 

Sheryl arrives at Hywel’s, with her laptop in case of Gaynor being there, and they drink tea, although Hywel would like to ply her with something alcoholic.   

Sheryl dreams of a complete change of direction

He advises her to relax and not think about work;  Sheryl would like to make a complete change of direction, but does not have the guts.   

She emphasises, “I’m not ready for a relationship,” and Hywel says it does not have to mean sleeping together, “That can sometimes spoil things,” he tells her from personal experience, and continues, “If I had the choice of being anywhere, I’d prefer being here with you.”

Siôn is summoned home by Britt

Siôn, behind the bar, has a phone call from Britt;  “I’m busy – can’t it wait?” he snaps, but then agrees to go home, and asks Dani to mind the bar while he is gone.   

"No free drinks for anyone"

“No free drinks for anyone,” he instructs her.

For Sioned, things are looking up

Sioned is telling Ed that things are starting to go her way, with the work she is doing for Gwyneth, but Ed complains, “I never thought I would be going to the shop at the end of the day for half-price bread!”

Hywel will be going to London next week . . . 

As Sheryl prepares to leave, Hywel congratulates her for bringing the laptop, as an excuse for being there if Gaynor returned, and says that next week he will be up in London, discussing broadcasting contracts.   

 . . . and he wants some company

He asks if she would like to join him – “You’d have your own room, with no connecting door!   I’ll e-mail you the hotel details.”   Giving him a little kiss, she leaves.

Gethin the stock controller

At the lock-up, Gethin is carrying out a stock count of the bags, while Garry talks on his phone to a customer, promising to get matching shoes.   Gethin is becoming tired of all the orders, and wants to become an equal partner with Garry in the business, so he could spend more time with Dani.

“You leave Dani out of this, Gethin!” snarls Garry, but Gethin asks, “Do you want her to find out?”   

"You parasite!"

Garry calls him a “parasite.”

"Is this a mistake?   £20,000 from Bethania?"

At Y Felin, Siôn asks how Britt got the password, and she tells him, “It’s not difficult to guess!”   She thinks it best if she deals with all the accounts from now on, and asks, “Is this a mistake?   £20,000 from Bethania’s account into ours?   If it is a mistake, we shall have to ring the bank.”

"There's no need to contact the bank!"

He immediately grabs the phone from her, saying that he must have transferred it in error.   Britt announces, “I am going to make a cup of tea, and when I come back, you are going to tell me the truth!”

Back at the garage, Garry asks Gethin, “Why would I want you as a partner?   You’re a joke!”   

“I don’t have to take this,” answers Gethin, and Garry tells him to pack his bags and go – and also get out of the house, as the new mechanic will need somewhere to live.

Gethin makes a phone call, and Dani is just across the road

Garry thinks he has silenced him, but Gethin goes outside the door and makes a phone call;  “I thought you’d like to know what your old mate’s getting up to in Cwmderi – Garry Monk, yes.   There’s a load of illegal stuff in his lock-up.”

Dani has just come out of the Deri and heard what he said;  she hurries off.

“You must have noticed this extra £20,000 – I want an explanation!” Britt orders Siôn.   

"I've been terribly busy just lately!"

He still tries to deny things by claiming he has been so busy lately, but Britt stops him;  “You’re digging yourself a hole!   I want the truth!”

He then insists it is simply a loan, to be paid back when the Deri makes a profit, which Britt points out could be some way in the future, with all the bills they have.   Then he suggests borrowing another couple of thousand to tide them over.   “I’m not doing this for personal benefit;  the village needs a lively Welsh pub.   Moral law is above the law of the land.”

Britt tries to reason with him . . .

As Britt snatches the mouse from his hand, 

. . . but he helps himself to another couple of thousand

he quickly presses the ENTER key, transferring another £2,000 from the chapel, and smiles.
