Hard at work at Penrhewl
As Cadno and DJ are sweeping up the farmyard, Jim arrives and remarks upon the smell, which is diagnosed as a fox, and Cadno says they cannot have one of them around, so they will have to go “lamping” tonight to dispose of it.
"You might learn something," says Cadno
She invites Jim to join them, saying, “You might learn something.”
Tecwyn the turkey gets his five minutes of fame
He shows them the first two of his turkey photographs, and Cadno accidentally reveals that Eileen asked her to “give Jim a chance,” which angers him.
That Sioned is very talented . . .
Gwyneth again compliments Sioned on her dressmaking skills, but they are running low on raw materials, so Gwyneth suggests that Sioned should try to divert a couple of bags bound for Megan’s charity shop.
. . . but she does not relish stealing clothes
When Sioned seems unwilling, she is warned that there will be no work for her otherwise.   When Hywel has designed their website, sales will increase.
Eifion fancies driving a racing car . . .
Eifion looks at a motor racing website, and after Angela tells him that he should be cleaning upstairs, he rings to book a couple of hours on the track on Monday, obtaining a reduced price as he says the rugby club are looking for a venue for an event.
. . . and books himself a session on Monday
He will pay the £150 on the website with his credit card.
Farmer Jim is not happy with Eileen
When Eileen arrives at the farm, she senses that Jim is not happy with her.   “Cadno’s not the problem – I know where I stand with her, but you persuaded her!” he complains.
"I'm going 'lamping' tonight," he announces
He also tells her he will not be home for dinner, as he is going “lamping,” which surprises Eileen.
Then Dai turns up, moaning that Jim is never at APD these days.
"You're a builder, not a farmer!"
“I can’t do everything myself, and you’re always here;  you’ve got a construction business to run!”
"Why not give Eifion a job?" asks Eileen
Eileen tells him there is one solution – to give Eifion a job, as he is a good worker, but Dai is far from enthusiastic.
Megan has a shortage of customers
In the charity shop, Megan is fretting that there are not many customers, and appears to be suspicious of Gwyneth.
Sioned discovers a new source of clothes for alteration . . .
Meanwhile, Sioned visits Angela just as she is about to take two bags of clothes to the shop.   “Let me take them for you,” offers Sioned, “I want to go and see Gwyneth.”
. . . but is surprised when Gwyneth creeps up behind her
As Sioned peers inside the bags, Gwyneth creeps up behind her and startles her.
Angela is jubilant about the job, although Dai does not seem to be
Angela’s doorbell rings;  it is Dai, offering Eifion a labouring job, as they have a contract to work on the Indian Takeaway near APD.   Eifion can think of many excuses, but Angela is overjoyed at the prospect of him getting some work.   “See you on Monday at 8 o’clock sharp!” says Dai.
Cadno anticipates a cold night's fox-hunting . . .
Cadno is wrapped up warmly for their evening’s hunting, explaining to Jim how they will make a noise like a rabbit to entice the fox, then encourage him closer with the lamp.
. . . but Jim does not seem particularly eager
“Then, I don’t need to explain what happens next,” she tells Jim, who looks very sheepish about the exercise, as he says the only things he has shot are clay pigeons.
"What do you mean, non-refundable?"
Eifion rings the race track to cancel his booking, and is very irate to hear that the payment is non-refundable.   “What small print?   You can’t do that with my money!” he shouts.
"You've already had two bags of clothes from me today!"
Megan is in the Deri and asks Angela if she has any clothes or bric-a-brac for the chapel jumble sale.   “I gave two bags of clothes to ApĂȘl Maenan today,” replies Angela, “Sioned took them for me.”
Sioned fabricates a tale of forgetting about the bags
Megan is adamant that they never reached the shop, and when Sioned comes in, she has to do some quick thinking, coming up with the story that she forgot about the two big, black sacks until the shop was shut, so she left them with Gwyneth to take in the morning.
“Right, I’ll go round and collect them now,” says Megan, “I want to see Gwyneth anyway.”
The evidence is spread around Gwyneth's room
When Megan arrives, closely followed by Sioned, Gwyneth’s living room is festooned with the clothes, and before Sioned has a chance to advise her about the story she concocted, Gwyneth admits, “I know it’s wrong, but it’s only two bags.
"It's only two bags – the shop will never miss them!"
“We’re desperate and the shop won’t miss them.   In fact, technically they haven’t been stolen from the shop, as they never got there!”
Megan gives them a piece of her mind
Telling them both that they should be ashamed, Megan sacks Gwyneth, as it is not the first time this has happened.   After she has stormed out, Gwyneth says now they have more time to focus on the business.
Skilled marksman Farmer Jim is back
The fox eradication party soon arrives back at Penrhewl,
"There's nothing to it!"
with Jim boasting, “There’s nothing to it – what’s all the fuss about?   He just stood still, and anyone could have had him!”
Cadno says Jim has proved himself today . . .
Cadno admits that she does not often admit she is wrong, but today Jim has proved himself.
. . . but he still does not look comfortable with the gun
When they all walk out of the kitchen, Jim puts the gun on the table, and still looks very uneasy.
Angela again expresses their gratitude
In the Deri, Angela tells Dai how grateful they both are to him for giving Eifion a job, as he was feeling so depressed.
Dai tells him straight, "No shirking!"
As soon as Angela’s back is turned, Dai tells Eifion, “If it was up to me, I wouldn’t let you anywhere near APD!   Unfortunately I’m stuck with you.   There’s a lot of work, and there will be no shirking!   8:00am to 6:30pm with half an hour for lunch!”
Eifion is not too enthused by the prospect
Eifion does not appear to be looking forward to working there.
