Hywel wants Jinx to go to the school
Hywel tells Jinx to go and get some “vox pops” from the school about the Hallowe’en problems, while he talks to some of the villagers, including, of course, Sheryl.
Jim jovially invites Eifion . . .
Jim goes to Angela’s to invite her and Eifion to the farm, where they will be celebrating becoming the joint owners of the place.   Eifion is upset after the golf fiasco, and tells Jim, “You’re forgetting the money!”   Jim assures him that the money will be in his account by the end of the day, but Eifion gives the impression of being in two minds about selling.
. . . but his mood changes abruptly
“Two can play at that game! Jim thunders, “The sale’s off!”
"It's so easy to wind Jim up!"
After he has stormed out, Eifion tells Angela that it is very easy to wind Jim up, but she tells him to tread carefully.
Doughnuts are the way to a woman's heart?
In the café Hywel offers to buy Sheryl a doughnut to go with her coffee, but she says she has a customer waiting and leaves;  he follows her across the road.
"It wasn't the best kiss I've ever had"
“About Friday night – I can’t think of anything else,” he tells her, and she replies, “It wasn’t the best kiss I’ve ever had.”   He wants to interview her about the trouble on Friday night, which frightened her, and will be in the Deri at lunchtime.
Elliw has instructed her dad to apologise
As Jinx is leaving CwmFM, Dylan meets him;  “Look, I know you’re worried about your daughter,” Jinx says, “But throwing your weight about won’t help!”   Dylan has come to apologise, and reveals that Elliw is not talking to him.   Jinx warns him that although he has had it tough, Ffion has her own life, and Elliw must get help from other teachers.
Dylan tries to contact Ffion
When Jinx has gone, Dylan rings the school and asks Ffion to contact him.
Their hilarity is about to be shattered
At Penrhewl, Eileen and Cadno are in high spirits, pouring glasses of sparkling wine to celebrate the sale when Jim brings the news that Eifion will not tell his solicitor to go ahead with the sale.
"I told him we're pulling out!"
“So I told him that we’re pulling out!”
Cadno simply says he is trying his luck, but Jim furiously insists that, “We’ll see how he likes it when people play games!   He can come here with his tail between his legs!”
Eifion lets Jim stew for a while
Meanwhile, in the Deri, Eifion tells Angela that Jim can be left to stew for a while.
The broadcaster seeking an interview
Hywel, with his microphone, asks them their opinion of the Trick or Treat business, and Sheryl, who has just come in, walks out again.
Gwen gets Dylan two coffees
Dylan orders two coffees from Gwen in the café, and Ffion joins him;  he tells her that Elliw is very angry with him for interfering.
"I've failed as a father"
“I’ve failed her as a father – I lost her mother and I don’t want to lose her too.”   Ffion advises that he must talk to Elliw, and that Mrs Delyth Rees at school knows about the situation, but he is reluctant to get the school involved, wanting to keep things private.
Ffion capitulates, and invites them over
Ffion agrees that they should come over to her flat.
Jim, angry with his solicitor
After talking on the phone to his solicitor, who advises him to be patient, Jim says, “He’s had weeks to change his mind – why play games today?”   Cadno knows this is typical Eifion, never considering other people.
Eileen hails this as a big day
Eileen takes charge when Eifion and Angela arrive;  telling them this is a big day for them all.   “Not if Jim is pulling out!” says Eifion, but Eileen says she has changed Jim’s mind.
Cadno puts her foot down
Eifion then has second thoughts about selling at all, but Cadno is getting tired of all the prevarication;  “Go for a walk, and when you come back we want a decision!”
Jinx welcomes Ows back to his old job
In the Deri, Jinx reports that there are some real characters at the school, and half of them could become comedians.   Hywel says he failed to get Sheryl to contribute to the discussion, so wants Jinx to try.
He then rings her, telling her to say she is too busy, so that he can “interview” her later.
Ffion tries to stress that Elliw's education must not suffer
Elliw comes home with Ffion, and is told that her education is important, but she says she is so angry with her father.
"You haven't invited him here?   I thought I could trust you!"
Ffion tells her that they must try to make peace, but Elliw is furious when she learns her father is coming.   “Wait until you hear what he has to say;  you need each other now,” says Ffion, “I’ll be here to support you, but you can’t replace your dad.”
"I don't know what your game is" — (I thought it was obvious)
Hywel goes to the salon, again;  “I don’t know what your game is,” says Sheryl, and he bleats about being unable to stay away.   “I don’t go round kissing every woman,” he tells her, but fortunately Jinx arrives to break up their meeting.
Patience is not one of Jim's strong points
Jim is getting tired of waiting for Eifion to return, and Cadno is confident that he will sell;  “He wants the money in his pocket,” she says.
"I want another £10,000," says Eifion
When he walks in, he announces ominously, “This is my final offer, I want another £10,000!”
Jim demands, “Are you off your head?” but Eifion bursts into laughter, and Angela reveals that he has told the solicitor to complete the sale.
Jim hugs Eileen
There is general rejoicing, with Jim shouting, I’m a farmer!”   Cadno reminds him that getting a share in a farm does not make him a farmer.
Hywel is unhealthily obsessed with the woman
Hywel is at home, cooking Gaynor’s favourite meal, when he picks up his mobile and is about to ring Sheryl, again.   An incoming call from Gaynor puts a stop to that.
Dylan tries to explain to Elliw
Dylan assures Elliw that he promised her mother he would take care of her;  “I’m an idiot sometimes, but give me a chance to make it right.   We’ll get through this together.”   Elliw tells him she was coping until he started upsetting everyone.
Jinx is not happy to see them there
Then Jinx returns;  “I thought I told you to keep away!” he tells them.   Ffion takes charge and reminds them to remember the baby in all this, and Jinx says he is sorry.
“There are plenty of people who will make life difficult for Elliw, but we will be here for you, won’t we, Jinx?” and he agrees.
Elliw is reconciled with her dad
Elliw hopes her dad has learned his lesson, and she grasps his hand.
