Sioned is an accomplished dressmaker as well as everything else
Sioned models the dress she has made from Marian’s old one, and Gwyneth is impressed;  “Someone will pay a lot for that,” she says.   However Sioned does not want to sell it, because, “It fits me perfectly!”
She gets an ultimatum from Gwyneth
Gwyneth wants the £10 back and gives her an ultimatum – “Either you start taking this business seriously, or you know where the door is!”   Sioned picks up her bag and flounces out.
"Where's the key for the quad bike"
At Penrhewl, Jim cannot find the key for the quad bike;  Cadno tells him it is probably in DJ’s pocket, in the top field.
Cadno arranges the sheep scan
Jim mentions he has not phoned to arrange the sheep scan, so after he has left Cadno does it for him.
Ffion is going to see Elliw
Ffion has a tiny woollen hat for the baby, and tells Jinx she is going to see Elliw after school;  he regrets he cannot come as he has a medical for the adoption process.
She does not seem as eager to adopt as does Jinx
Ffion does not seem keen to book a medical for herself, so he offers to get her an appointment.
Gaynor rings, looking for something;  when the call ends, Ffion remarks, “Find it yourself, useless woman!”
Iolo might go back to plumbing in the new year
At number 7, Gethin asks Iolo when he will start his plumbing business again, as it would pay more than being a barman.   As Iolo dons his rucksack and prepares to go for a walk, Gethin has a phone call.
"I've got fifteen bags if you want them"
“How did you get this number?   It’s good to find a new customer – I’ve got fifteen bags if you want them.   Er . . . £3,000 . . . Great, give me an hour.”
Ffion assumes a present for the baby would not have entered Gethin's head
As Iolo leaves, Ffion comes in, having bought some presents for the baby from both of them, as Gethin would not have thought of such a thing.
"Why isn't  'Top Field' up the hill?"
Jim is angry when he returns to the farm kitchen and finds DJ drinking tea;  DJ points out that the “Top Field” is at the foot of the hill, by the roadside.   It used to be the “Top Field of Hafod Isa, taken over by Penrhewl.   “We number the animals, why not number the fields, instead of using stupid names?”
Jim's bright idea of numbering fields A1, A2 etc
Looking at a map, he asks, “Why is this field called Cae Gwenith?”
Cadno tells the story of Cae Gwenith
Cadno explains that Gwenith Morgan was a maid in the 1820s, who froze to death there in the severe winter of 1829, and was found under a hedge with the egg basket, in March 1830.   The fact that she was only 15, “The same age as Courtney,” tends to silence Jim’s objections.   “This place is steeped in history – you can’t make thoughtless changes,” says Cadno.
"We don't want people walking through the farmyard!"
Then Jim sees a line on the map, and realises that a public footpath runs through the farmyard;  Cadno tries to tell him that he cannot stop people using it.

Gaynor is feeling lonely
At the shop, Gaynor tells Eileen she is feeling lonely with Hywel away, so Eileen suggests a night out at the Deri, and they invite Sheryl to join them.
When Sioned approaches, they admire her new dress, but she tells Eileen she has been having trouble with Gwyneth wanting her to sell it.   “I thought that was the idea,” replies Eileen, “Are you serious about the venture?   Gaynor fancied that dress, and I thought that money was tight.
Sioned ponders what her mother has said

Ed is working all hours – the least you can do is to pull your weight.”
Gethin cannot believe that £3,000 was so easy
Gethin arrives home, and after checking that no-one else is there, looks proudly at three bundles of £20 notes.
Sioned is now willing to sell the dress
When Sioned gets back to Gwyneth’s, she is in a more conciliatory mood;  “I don’t want to lose my job.   People have said how pretty the dress is, so let’s sell it!   I am a bit of a drama queen.”
Anti Ffion with the new baby
At Dylan’s house, Ffion and Gethin visit Elliw and the new arrival, weighing 7lbs 3oz;
Gethin Llywelyn Bevan
Elliw announces that in gratitude for what they have done, he will be named Gethin Llywelyn.
"I don't deserve that," says Gethin
Gethin is rather overcome;  “I don’t deserve that – Ffion got him to start breathing.”   Dylan invites them to stay for tea and cake.
"Why is there a padlock on the public footpath?"
Jim and Eileen are at the farm, when Cadno comes in and demands, “Why is there a padlock on the public footpath?   It’s not allowed!   Give me the key!”   Apparently this was the route Iolo was walking, and he threatens to report the matter to the council.
When everyone else has gone, Cadno says, “Don’t tell me to give him another chance!   His idea of farming is messing around on the quad.”
DJ thinks of a couple of really unpleasant jobs for Jim
DJ agrees that it is time he had a lesson in real farming;  “The dog kennels stink, and there’s a dead sheep on the riverbank.   See what he does after he sorts them out!”
Gethin is uncomfortable about the baby's name
Back at number 7, Gethin tells Ffion he thinks Dylan fancies her.   “Well, he wouldn’t be the first,” she laughs.   He admits that he is uncomfortable about the name;  “I’m hardly a good example to anyone;  I’m afraid I’ll put a voodoo on the child.”
"But look at you now," she replies
Ffion agrees that he has had hard times, “But look at you now,” she says, then has to go, as it is Arwen’s bathtime.
Girls' night out at the Deri
Gaynor, Sheryl and Eileen are in the Deri, with Eileen bemoaning the fact that Jim is a bit enthusiastic on the farm.   Gaynor says that it will not last;  Hywel is always moving on from one obsession to the next, as he lacks staying power.
No prizes for guessing who is ringing Sheryl
Just then, Sheryl has a phone call and goes outside to answer it.   Cadno comes in and tells Eileen that Jim is mucking out the kennels.
Cadno recognises the provenance of those garments
When Gwyneth and Sioned arrive, their recycled garments attract attention, and Cadno is amazed that they originate from Marian’s cast-offs.
Gaynor does not turn a hair at paying £80 . . .
Gaynor thinks Sioned’s dress would be ideal as a Christmas present for Lois, and readily agrees when Sioned suggests a price of £80,
Gwyneth is incredulous;  "Eighty quid?"
which Gwyneth thinks is unbelievable.
“Right, I had better get changed,” says Sioned.

Gethin Llywelyn Bevan's first savings
Gethin gets his bundles of money out again, peels off several £20 notes, puts them in an envelope and writes on the front, “Gethin Llywelyn.”
