7 April 2014

Dani is talking about going back to work, while Garry seems very distant;  while she wants to talk to him, he is hunting for fuses, as the kettle is not working.   She urges him to talk to her, but he says he is late for work, and leaves.
Gethin cannot understand why Dani does not want the baby
Gethin calls, and she tells him she does not want the baby;  he tries to reason with her, but she says she will not have this baby just to please him and Garry.
Meic gets his wallet out, offering Ed money to turf Nansi out of the Deri
Meic visits the Deri and asks Ed why he is putting a roof over Nansi’s head, saying she always causes problems and upsets people;  he even offers to pay him to throw her out.   Of course she comes downstairs and hears this.
Nansi is not exactly the most popular customer at the café
Nansi has a hostile reception at the café – “What d’you want?” says Debbie, to which Nansi replies, “You won’t win any customer service awards like that.”   She orders a cup of tea, “Decent stuff, not gnat’s pee,” she says.   She tells Meic that Kevin only made one mistake, and they, his family, should stick by him;  “He’s not an evil man, lurking in the shadows,” she insists.   Meic says, “Tell that to Sheryl and Cadno,” and when Nansi is surprised to hear Cadno’s name, adds, “So he hasn’t told you everything!   Off you go to talk to your beloved son, or better still, go back to Anglesey.”
Rather unseasonable blackberry jam-making session begins
Cadno visits Eileen, who is making blackberry jam (though it may seem to be a strange time of year for that).   Cadno says she has been keeping out of their way, as she wants to keep a home for herself and the boys.   Her feelings for Eifion are long gone, and Eileen says she needs to find a good farmer to look after them, and the farm.
Eileen is worried when she hears that the "dangerous" Kevin is involved
She continues quizzing Cadno, who reveals her incident with Kevin, but plays down its importance;  Eileen maintains that if the stories are true, he is a dangerous man.   As they label the jars of jam, Cadno refuses to make a further complaint to the police, as Eileen advises her.
Sheryl gets some more of Nansi's tongue, while Meic watches
Meic warns Sheryl that Nansi is on the warpath, but Sheryl thought she was coming round to their way of thinking;  when she leaves the café, she encounters Nansi, who goes on about their ruining Kevin’s life and accuses Sheryl of “crying wolf”.   Sheryl tells Meic that she is getting scared of Nansi, spreading her poison.
Nansi, about to tuck into an appetising quiche and salad at the Deri
Meanwhile, at the Deri, Ed serves Nansi quiche and salad, and asks how long she is likely to stay, but receives no answer.
Garment in the Scallywag shop, and Garry's reflection on the left
On the way home, Garry passes the “Scallywag” shop, next door to APD, and sees a baby vest bearing the words “Babi Dad”.   When he gets home, Dani is waiting for him;  he puts down the little vest on the table and tells Dani this is not solely her decision.   “I want to have this baby with you – it’s our baby,” he tells her, “Nothing would make me happier that to have a brother or sister for Gwern.”   Dani replies, “This is not right, not now.   What about me and my happiness?   Don’t you care how I feel?   How can I raise a child I don’t want?”
Garry assures her that he will be there to look after her, but Dani says she thinks she wants an abortion.   Garry replies that he cannot stop her, but he will try to make her change her mind.
Garry will not give up trying to make Dani change her mind
“If you love me, that baby must mean something to you.”
