Nansi Furlong arrives back in Cwmderi
A blue Peugeot, CK54EEF, arrives in the village, and Hywel recognises the driver as Nansi Furlong;  “Doesn’t take Einstein to work out why she’s here,” he remarks to Gaynor.
Kevin is not exactly enraptured to hear his mother's voice
As Diane and Kevin are eating breakfast there is a knock on the door, and Kevin is horrified when he hears Nansi’s voice;  “What are you doing here?” he demands.   He insists that he can handle things, and that she is only here to stick her nose in.   Nansi asks him one question: “Did you rape Sheryl?” to which he replies, “No!”   Then there is the familiar tale of how she still had feelings for him, but she had to say it was rape to avoid a beating from Garry.
Nansi listening to Kevin's version of events
Nansi is amazed that his own father has turned against him, and says she will have a word with him.   She tells Kevin she is staying at the Deri, where she will be able to see and hear everything.   Kevin tells her to go back home, but she replies she will not be able to help him from Amlwych.
Daniel accuses Rhys and most of the rugby team of sleeping with his girlfriend
Rhys is standing by the bus stop, when he is joined by a stranger, who it transpires is Daniel, a friend from university.   At first he accuses Rhys of sleeping with his girlfriend, Lowri, but then says that has shown what sort of girl she is.   He urges Rhys to have another word with his tutor, but Rhys’s mind is made up.
As they wait in the chip shop, Rhys says he does not want any more boring lectures, then Iolo comes in and overhears that Rhys has packed in university;  he urges Rhys to tell his father, as secrets like that have a habit of spreading rapidly.
Iolo, preparing his lunch, is asked to keep quiet about Rhys's decision
At home as Iolo makes tea and butters some bread to go with his chips, Rhys calls and asks him again not to say anything.
In the Deri, Hywel predicts that, “Things will kick off when Nansi sees Sheryl and Meic;”  DJ reveals that Nansi once worked for his father, Dic Deryn, and he still calls her all sorts of names.
DJ wants to see this Nansi, the only woman to "get one over" on his father
After his shift finishes, DJ wants to get back to Diane’s and see this Nansi, but Diane orders him to stay there;  Ed says they are like a married couple, which sparks DJ’s temper.   Ed continues to wind him up with talk of “Cougars in Swansea on a Saturday night – divorcĂ©es looking for young blood,” and has to remind DJ what happened the last time he lost his temper in the Deri.
Ed enjoys winding up DJ abou being Diane's "bit on the side"
He also thinks Diane ought to put him on a leash.
Then in walks Nansi, and after Ed says that he is “Diane’s fancy man,” DJ introduces himself as Dic’s son, and Nansi agrees that they should keep away from each other.
DJ is introduced to Nansi Furlong
Rhys’s friend Daniel arrives at the Deri, and talks to Hywel and Gaynor;  as soon as Rhys returns from the toilet, he ushers Daniel and Iolo out, making the excuse that they are, “Going to town.”   Hywel describes Daniel as, “An odd bloke,” and adds that if that is the sort of company Rhys keeps, it is no wonder he is like he is.
Rhys aggressively insists he will not return to university
Outside, Daniel reveals that Rhys’s tutor wants to see him again, but Rhys is adamant that he will not go back to university.   Iolo angrily tells him, “If you don’t want to go back, fine — but be man enough to tell your father!”
