Jinx is in bed, worrying, while Ffion is preparing for the first day in charge at school;  he tells her he is not well, so she has to take Arwen to Britt’s.
Gethin preparing mountains of vegetables for the soup kitchen
When she arrives, Britt and Gethin are preparing a large quantity of vegetables for the soup kitchen, and shortly afterwards Megan appears, wanting to give Gethin advice about making his venture into a formal charity.   Meanwhile Jinx looks at the letter which has been delivered, and after pondering, consigns it, unopened, to the bin.
Meic quizzes Iolo about his brother, sent away from the village
Iolo is looking at Meic’s central heating boiler, and Meic, worried that he has not heard from Kevin, quizzes him about Macs;  does Iolo know where he is, and has he forgiven him?   Iolo explains that he is in Cardiff, he saw him at Christmas, and texts him each week, but it would be difficult for him to come back, and there is doubt that he wants to.   In any case, it is not just about Macs, but also the people he has hurt.   Iolo adds, “Moving a problem doesn’t solve it.”
Meic muses, “It’s awful to have regrets.”   When Anita comes home and hears that there is still no word from Kevin, she insists they should phone the police, so Meic is forced to admit, “I sent him away, and told him never to come back!   Did I do the right thing?”
Gaynor is complaining about her car as Hywel is leaving for work;  later, just as Gethin and Gwynfor are carrying the heavy tureen of soup into the business units, a posh 08-reg white Alfa Romeo sports car pulls up outside the business units.
"How much did that cost?" asks an incredulous Hywel
Hywel is incredulous when Gaynor informs him that her new job necessitates a new car.   Hywel says he has no time for a ride – he has a programme to produce.
Then Gaynor goes to the café, where she explains to Iolo her new idea for the Stark Naked Dudes — performing at Eileen and Jim’s wedding reception, with leather outfits and spray-on tan — and goes on and on about it.   Iolo advises her to talk to Eileen and leaves as soon as possible.
Megan lecturing Gethin about setting up a charity
Gethin has been persuaded to go to Megan’s posh house, with lots of collectable china, where she can explain the process for becoming a formal charity, and she goes on at great length about what he should do:   claiming expenses, getting high-profile support, like someone with an OBE.
“You should have heard her,” he tells Iolo when he manages to get back home, “Attracting donations from high places.   Her and her OBE – she’s so hypocritical.”   Gethin adds that for him the charity work is personal, and is surprised when Iolo tends to agree with Megan’s point of view.
Ffion collects Arwen from Britt's after school
When Ffion returns from her day’s work, having collected Arwen from Britt’s, she finds Jinx depressed, but he will not reveal the reason;  she tips some uneaten food into the bin, and inevitably finds the letter.   Jinx jumps up and tries to grab it, but Ffion opens it, to find only junk mail;  he says he was confused, but Ffion is very concerned that something is wrong.
Ffion retrieves the letter from the bin, very concerned about Jinx
