24 March 2014

Diane enters the Business Units with her mop and bucket, and is alarmed to find Kevin sleeping on the floor.
Initially, Diane wants Kevin out of the Business Units
He tells her he has nowhere else to go, but she orders him to leave;  “You’ve made up your mind about me, like everyone else,” he says.   After he relates more of his misfortunes, caused by his being “in the wrong place at the wrong time”, she relents, and goes to the Deri to get him a sandwich.
Hywel is jubilant about the new star player in the Cwmderi team
Hywel has a letter from the Welsh Rugby Union, confirming that DJ can play for Cwmderi;  it appears that DJ has been boasting how he was a star player in Ireland.   When Hywel goes to the Deri to tell DJ the “good” news, he seems rather sheepish, Eifion is angry at the thought that a regular player could be replaced by this unknown quantity, and Gaynor asks if anyone has actually seen DJ playing rugby.
Despite his opinion being based only on what DJ has told him, Hywel insists that this will be the salvation of the club.   Gaynor asks DJ if they have Eisteddfodau in Ireland – he would get the crown for “Creative Presentation”!
Gaynor can recognise a "Creative Presentation", even if Hywel cannot
As Hywel leaves, he throws a rugby ball to DJ, behind the bar, but he fumbles and drops it.
When Diane returns to Kevin, he explains to her at great length what has happened;  he had been drinking with Cadno, and back at the farm had to hold her up, as she was drunk.   Then his father appeared and Cadno made a big deal of it, having been caught alone with “a rapist.”
Kevin continues his one-sided version of what happened
“Do you believe, after all I have been accused of, that I would try my luck with Cadno?” he asks Diane, “No-one would be so stupid!   But they don’t want to hear my side, and Sheryl has changed her story, again.”
Eifion cannot see a way to pay the bills, but Angela has an idea
There are financial problems at Penrhewl, as they cannot pay the feed bills;  Angela, who has been sharing “the marital bed” as Cadno puts it, comes up with a suggestion, at first dismissed.
The website which captures Eifion's and Cadno's attention
When she demonstrates with the help of a “Glamping” website, showing a tent sleeping six and with a woodstove, and explains there is a lot of money to be made, both Eifion and Cadno are interested.   Angela tells them that not much space is needed, but the sheep would have to be kept away from the teepees.   Eifion is sold on the idea, but Cadno cannot see it working;  however if it will keep the farm afloat, she will back the idea and help as much as she can.
Kevin continues his rather biased story of how Sheryl still fancied him when he was with Debbie, and how he only went to the salon that night to “get everything out in the open” – but again, wrong place, wrong time.   She has ruined his life, but he feels sorry for her and says she needs help, but not as much as he does.
Diane tells him that leaving the village would be like pleading guilty, so he must fight;  Kevin replies that he is tired of fighting and might as well tie the noose himself.
Diane lies to Hywel about Kevin's presence in the Business Units
Diane says that her niece, Elin, is a lawyer, and they will consult her;  at that moment Hywel comes in and orders the dishevelled Kevin out, but Diane fabricates a story of how she fell down and Kevin rescued her.
DJ considers that Diane has made a very bad move, inviting Kevin to stay
When she gets home with Kevin, DJ, in his apron is far from happy to see him, but Diane confirms that Kevin will be staying for a while.   As Kevin goes up to his room, DJ asks Diane, “Is this a good idea?”
