26 March 2014

Meic visits Sheryl, telling her that today’s hearing is a step closer to her getting justice, but she is worried that if the people of the village do not believe her, what chance is there of convincing anyone else.
Diane, in her dressing gown, definitely does not want to go to the court
Elin arrives early at Diane’s, and persuades her that she should be in court, supporting Kevin;  Diane reluctantly agrees, although she would rather be choosing a toilet for her new en suite.   Elin triumphantly announces to Kevin that Auntie Diane will be there.
Megan has a frightening conversation with DS Fielding
Megan sees DS Fielding outside her shop, waiting for her;  she is told that she is investigating missing money from the charity.   Megan is flustered and lies that she put the money in the wrong account, as she was tired and overworked;  when asked about a £300 discrepancy in the amounts, Megan says she bought a chair and desk with her own money, but DS Fielding asks for a receipt.
Megan says it must be at home, and after the police have gone, she dashes to Meic’s in a panic, admitting that she has lied to the police;  after telling him the whole story, he produces a home-made receipt to cover the amount, calling it “a white lie to protect an innocent person.”
Meic fabricates a convincing-looking receipt for desk and chair
Megan is not convinced she should be doing this, but later, when the police return, she proudly produces the document, which appears not to entirely convince Fielding, but she says that the matter is cleared up, and warns Megan to be much more careful in future.
DS Fielding lets Megan off, although she is not totally convinced
Kevin and Elin enter Court No 2, with Diane complaining behind them;  after the magistrates enter, Kevin pleads “not guilty”, and Elin requests bail, saying that Kevin will be living with Diane until the trial.
Elin applying for bail for Kevin, "who will be living at Bryntirion"
This does not go down well with Diane, who is having second thoughts, and at home afterwards she accused Elin of tricking her, and she will be stuck with Kevin for four weeks.   Elin asks her if she thinks Kevin is guilty, but Diane will not commit herself.
Diane, angry that she has been tricked into having Kevin for four weeks
Later, when Kevin thanks her for her support, and offers to cook her “a special supper”, she says she is going to see her friend Glenys, keen to get away from him.
Iolo is not keen to be in the same house as Kevin,
but agrees in the end to do the bathroom work
In fact she goes to see if Iolo can finish the bathroom work which Dai had started;  he is reluctant to go there and asks Diane if it is the right thing to let Kevin live there.   Diane retorts, “Have some sympathy!” to which Iolo’s response is, “For a guilty man?”   Eventually he agrees to start the work next week.
At the Deri, Debbie is spreading rumours about Megan and the missing money.   By the window, Diane is looking at bathroom brochures with Iolo, and says, “It’s a problem, sharing the bathroom with big, hairy men.”
Iolo looks amused by Sheryl's outburst directed at Diane
Sheryl stalks across to her and says, “You wouldn’t have that problem if you hadn’t taken a rapist in!   You could have refused to have him.   Do you know what I’m going through?”

Meic tells Sheryl that it is like talking to a brick wall, and they leave the Deri, outside which Sheryl comes face to face with Kevin in the street.   Meic warns him he is breaking his bail conditions, but Kevin reiterates that it was simply a mistake, he admitted it and he regrets it.
Meic threatens Kevin that he will call the police
