Meic appears to have something on his mind
Meic is quiet, working on the co-operative paperwork, and when Debbie wants to go out for a meal and a film, he would rather stay in.
He is interrupted as he is about to tell Debbie
As he tells her there is something he has been meaning to say for a while, Ricky and Mark come in, Ricky wanting his sports kit.
As Debbie goes to fetch it, Mark mentions to Meic that he is going to a gig in Bristol tomorrow, and remarks that there are not many names on Meic’s list.
Mark says he does not have many names
“I haven’t written them all down yet,” replies Meic, “And there’s still room for your name there.”   Mark regrets that he has no money, and, when Meic comments that he can afford to go to a gig, explains that Gemma is paying.
"Meic is on the verge of proposing to me," she tells Mark
Meic goes out to the Deri, and Debbie reveals to Mark that her divorce has come through, and that Meic is on the verge of proposing to her;  “You’re not going to marry Grumpy?” says Mark, incredulously.
"Lord and Lady Muck" inspecting the Deri
Dai and Diane are inspecting the Deri and finding fault with everything, from dampness to the lack of a bidet.   Dai maintains that new boilers are required, and it would cost £15,000 to put things right.
Dai's blustering amuses Sioned
“I’ve got a builder’s eye!” he boasts.
Meic looks at Denzil's and Reg's photos
Then Meic arrives downstairs, looks ruefully at the photos of Denzil and Reg on the wall, and tells Ed that he will be bidding on behalf of the Venture.
"You didn't have the backbone to admit you would be bidding!"
Then he sees Dai and Diane come downstairs, and realise why they were so obstructive at the meeting;  “You didn’t have the backbone to admit you would be bidding!” he shouts.   Sioned remarks to Ed that it is good for them to have the two, bidding against each other.
Meic is exceedingly irate
When Meic tells Dai he has had plenty of support for the co-operative, and it would be a pleasure to work together in the Deri, Dai dismisses what he says.   Dai jokes, “Mind your head – what was that – a flying pig?”
Dai accuses him of being a dictator
He then accuses Meic;  “You’ll be running the show, as a dictatorship!   I wasn’t born yesterday!   You used to run the place, and then lost it;  now you want to push your way back in on the backs of innocent people!”
"There are more important things in life than money and profit!"
Meic snarls, “There more important things in life than money and profit,” and Dai counters with, “Tell me what they are!”
Sioned, listening to this shouting match
Meanwhile Sioned shakes her head in disbelief.
Diane has a plan to solve one of Dai's problems
Walking along the street, Diane has an idea, and asks Dai what is the most important thing to him, the Deri or the rugby club chairmanship, as she can do something about the latter.
Colin and Mark go into the Deri, wanting a look around, but Sioned asks if they have bought shares, and they plead insufficient funds.
A coffee is all they are going to get
When she goes to make them a coffee, Mark tells Colin that he is going to Bristol, funded by Gemma.
Mark assures Colin he is going with someone else, not Gemma
Colin’s first reaction is that he is going with Gemma, but Mark dispels this suspicion, but does not reveal who is accompanying him.
Back in the cafĂ© flat, Debbie quite fancies being the Deri’s landlady, and wants to move in there as there is plenty of space, but Meic stops her.
"I'm sorry, but we have to finish!"
“I can’t postpone this any longer,” he begins, “I’m sorry, but we have to finish!   Actually you make me very happy, but you deserve happiness with someone younger.”
"You think I'm after your money!"
Debbie cannot understand why in that case he wants to break up;  “You don’t trust me.   It makes sense – you have won the lottery, and think I’m after your money!”   Meic again stresses that there is no money, and that he does trust her, but maintains that things cannot work between them.
Diane says it is obvious Eifion needs expert tuition
Dai and Diane visit Eifion, and Diane says that Eifion needs some expert golf tuition, which can be provided by Dai, much to Dai’s astonishment.   She also suggests that Dai can supply a set of clubs for him, to save some money.
"If Eifion happened to get some of the rules wrong . . ."
While Eifion goes to answer the phone, Diane explains to Dai that if Eifion were to get some of the rules wrong, he would make a fool of himself in front of the main sponsor.   This would not go down well with the rugby club committee, who would want – “A safe pair of hands as chairman,” cottons on Dai.
The plan is working . . . so far
On Eifion’s return, Dai announces that he would be pleased to coach Eifion, “for the good of the club”, and they shake hands on the deal.
"I thought you were a nice bloke!"
Debbie is distraught;  “I thought you were a nice bloke who was going to look after me, but you’re just like every other man!   There’s another woman, that’s what it is.”   Meic assures her that there is no-one else, and that he is doing this for her own good.   “I have made my decision – it’s not your fault – you’re fun, and full of life . . .”
"I don't want you here when Ricky gets back!"
But you don’t love me!” concludes Debbie.   When Meic says he hopes they can remain friends, her reaction is, “I don’t want you here when Ricky gets back!”
Debbie is inconsolable
As Meic leaves, she sits down and bursts into tears.
Sioned tells Ed they have to let go, as they have no choice, and suggests they go away until after the auction.
"We could go away until after the auction"
Ed points out that they have no money, so Sioned reveals that the person with whom she stayed would welcome them any time, “And there is nothing left for us here.”
