Garry is paying £100 for this secret assignation

In the middle of the night at number 7, Gethin and Iolo are up; Gethin has persuaded Iolo to drive him to Milford Haven, where Garry has asked him to collect a van.

"I have to do some detective work"

“Until my prospective brother-in-law does some sharing, I have to do some detective work,” he tells Iolo, who agrees to take him, but wants no more to do with it.

"She needs help – and fast!"

Sioned finds a Royal Mail job application form, but Ed says that it is nothing to do with him. Sioned concludes, “Oh – Manon! I’ve had enough of this, she needs help – and fast! Will you phone Andrew, or shall I?”

Her plan seems to be to "stalk" Mark

Gemma comes in and takes the form, saying it is part of her plan, which cannot fail – “Mark works at that depot!” After she has gone, Sioned tells Ed, “I don’t want to make you choose between the two of us, but I may have to.” Ed phones Andrew.

"He's not man enough to face people!"

Jinx learns from Britt that Siôn, who is to judge the harvest loaves, is in Dolgellau, visiting a micro-brewery, and his car has broken down; she appoints herself judge in his place. Jinx comments that Siôn is not man enough to face people.

Eileen does not have a good word for Siôn

In the café, Eileen tells DJ, saying she thought Siôn would have the decency to turn up, but DJ expresses sympathy for Siôn.

Debbie drops a plate of food, and the fireworks begin

As Meic serves Ows with coffee, Debbie drops a plate of food on the floor, and she and Meic shout at each other. The situation is not improved by Ows asking if the coffee is free, since Meic has won the lottery.

Poor old Ows is getting a proper mouthful

Meic is furious; “How many more times? I have not won the lottery! I never play the lottery! I have no intention of playing the lottery! Is that clear enough, or do I have to announce it on Radio Cymru? And you can tell all your friends!”

"One of us has to go!"

Then Debbie joins in, “What about you two – you and her? Any idea how you make me feel? There’s something wrong with the Pierce gene pool, obviously! Who’s going to run the café, you or me? One of us has to go!”

Gethin's lock-picking expertise fails

Gethin has collected the van and brought it back to the garage; he does his best to pick the lock on the back door, and in disgust kicks the door, whereupon it opens.

Out come the boxes of handbags

They find inside boxes full of handbags.

Young Meic at Aberdaron

Meic is looking at his childhood photographs, and asks if Debbie was right in what she said about his family. Anita tries to reassure him, and wonders if it is time he told people; “You don’t deserve what happened today – and neither does Debbie.” Meic agrees, but must tell the boys first.

Diane's loaf arrives at the vestry

Diane brings her loaf to the vestry, where Britt is denigrating Colin’s loaf;

Jinx is engineering something

Jinx tells Diane that Britt may have “the chance to hang herself” as she does not want to do an interview about the Deri, but as judge she may have to. At the last minute, Siôn finally arrives.

Gethin cannot understand the total absence of drugs

Gethin has searched all the handbags, but is disappointed to find no drugs; Iolo comments, “Do you think Garry is smoking handbags?” Gethin realises that Iolo is ignoring a couple of his habits, as there is a mess in the house, and the cups have not been washed.

Iolo is reminded that the washing up needs doing

“You must be getting better,” encourages Gethin, but it only serves to remind Iolo, and he sets about washing up.

Jinx manages to get Siôn into an awkward situation . . .

As the time for the result of the competition draws near, Jinx asks Siôn his views on “Community”. When Siôn says that small communities are important, Jinx continues, “Are you saying it is important to trust people? But isn’t it sad when people don’t keep their word, and go behind others’ backs?”

. . . but DJ shifts the attention to the Harvest Loaf winner

DJ shows his sympathies for Siôn by loudly announcing that the winner is Hywel Llywelyn, and Diane greets the news by shouting, “Fix!”

Gemma is adamant that nothing is wrong

Gemma asks, “How many times do we have to go through this?” Sioned retorts, “Until you start listening!” Gemma tells her father, “I’m Manon – Gemma is gone! If you love me, prove it by leaving me alone, look at me – I’m happy!”

Yes, Sioned looks as if she really has had enough!

Sioned by now is getting really angry; “We’ve all had enough! We’ve tried, we’ve defended you, looked after you, but you throw it all back in our faces! I know you’ve had a hard time, but you’re not the only one! You let people think that Mark was dead, and that you were engaged, and now this Manon business – of course you need help!”

Gemma waves a breadknife around, again

“Manon doesn’t need help!” shouts Gemma, but when Sioned lunges forward and pulls off her blonde wig, she grabs the conveniently-placed breadknife, brandishing it at her father.

Ed wastes no time in calling the police

As Gemma rants about her father neglecting her, and saying he was scared that she would kill him too, Ed rings 999 on his mobile, saying, “She has a knife.”

Then Ed moves round behind her, and as she threatens Andrew he grapples for the knife, in the process slashing his hand. Andrew hugs Gemma.

"There's Uncle Gruff"

Meic looks at a photo of Uncle Gruff, the nearest thing he had to a father. “Are you sure you want to remarry,” he asks Anita, “The happiest day of our life turned into a nightmare last time.” She replies that they want the time they have left to be happy.

They find a roll of film

She finds in the box of photos a reel of super-8 film, a record of the village where Meic was born and brought up, but Uncle Gruff died before he could finish it. Anita suggests that Meic could do the same thing for Cwmderi.
