The evidence has been disposed of
Stacey has disposed of the suspect plants into black sacks, and Kath blames Debbie for the drugs;
"Debbie's nothing but trouble!"
“She’s nothing but trouble, and they’ve all taken advantage of him over the years!”   Stacey suggests that Mark was not dealing, and that it was for his own use.
Siôn is trying find inspiration
Siôn is attempting to plan the funeral when Britt intercepts a call from Megan;  “Bossy boots wants you to phone the financial adviser before eleven tomorrow!” Britt tells him.   Siôn can only think of useless clichés for the eulogy, and Mark deserves better than that.
Meic receives an ominous letter
In the post, Meic receives a letter from Carreg Fechan Hospital, and puts it to one side.
Siôn goes to the Deri to discuss the arrangements with Kath;  “We don’t want a poncey funeral tea – we want a wake here!” she orders.
Kath reiterates that Debbie is not welcome
When Debbie arrives, Kath asks, “Didn’t I make it clear yesterday?   This is family business!”   Debbie sits down, nevertheless, as Stacey tells Siôn she will buy shares in the Deri.
Dai is buttering up Stacey
Dai comes in to make a few measurements, and as Stacey searches for a drink for her mother
"This is all I could find," announces Stacey
(“Anything will do if it has alcohol in it.”) Dai says that what the Deri needs is an entrepreneur like her, with a good head for business.
Siôn discusses the auction with Meic and Anita
When Siôn visits Meic and Anita, she laments, “Life can be so cruel, with things happening without warning!”   Siôn tells them that Megan has put herself forward to do the bidding for the initiative;  “She would put herself forward for the Grand National!” retorts Anita.   They agree that Siôn should do it.
After he has gone, Anita says she is not envious of Siôn’s chapel leader’s job, “Dealing with death constantly.”
Anita is surprised by a sudden kiss
Meic, looking particularly worried, approaches Anita and suddenly kisses her.
Meic tells her his news
He then hugs her, while whispering in her ear, “I’m dying, of lung cancer, which has spread to the liver!   There’s only six or nine months left!”   Anita exclaims, “Oh, Meic!”
Meic has a list of things to do before he dies
She insists he must take any treatment they offer, but Meic is adamant, “I don’t want to lie on a hospital bed, I want to live!   There are many things I want to do – go back to Anglesey for a while, go fishing in Scotland, go to Spain!”   All they can offer is palliative chemotherapy, and for an extra three or four months, it is not worth it, he says.   Then the solicitor phones about the auction.
Gemma has disposed of all Mark's clothes
As Kath and Stacey look at old family photos, Gemma comes in and admits she has taken all Mark’s clothes to a charity shop, as she could not bear to see them.   “We got rid of the drugs,” Stacey tells her, “Mark was growing cannabis upstairs.”
"Cannabis?"
Gemma looks totally baffled, reinforcing Kath’s suspicion that Debbie was involved.
Megan explains her incredible expertise
The co-operative committee meet in the Deri, with Megan volunteering to send e-mails to all the investors;  “I have the expertise, that’s why they awarded me the OBE in the first place,” she informs them.   Meic announces that they can go to £180,000.   When Megan hears that she will not be doing the bidding, she takes umbrage and walks out.
Britt is astonished by the news about Meic
Anita cannot keep it to herself any longer, but tells Britt, in confidence, that Meic is dying of cancer, of course getting her to promise not to tell a soul.   “What am I going to do without him?” she says.
What is Siôn going to do with chapel funds?
At home, Siôn looks at what appears to be Bethania chapel's online bank statement, then informs Britt that he does not think the co-operative will succeed, as they are arguing already;  “Imagine what it would be like, running a pub!”
"I am going to buy the Deri, with you," he tells Britt
Britt assumes he is giving in, but on the contrary, he announces, “I am going to buy the Deri, with you!”
Britt is starting to relish the prospect of owning the Deri
He has done his sums, and by remortgaging Y Felin they can afford it.   “We must remember what it important – Cwmderi!” says Siôn, “You have business experience and I’m a community man”
Britt says there are more important considerations than upsetting Meic Pierce, and seems excited;  “We’re going to do this, aren’t we?”
Siôn begins to stand up against Megan
When Megan phones again, Siôn simply “declines” the call.
"The village is more important than me"
Anita gets home to find Meic preparing a statement for the Western Post, but insists that his health is the most important thing.   Meic, however, wants to concentrate on the auction, maintaining that the future of the village is more important than his future.
"I''m never going to see his face again!"
Kath is becoming more and more upset;  “I can’t believe I’m never going to see his face again!   I just want Mark, I want my little boy back!”   When Debbie arrives there, Stacey asks her, “Was the cannabis your idea?   We found plants in the bedroom.”
Debbie denies any recent connection with drugs
Debbie assures them, “We have not messed with drugs for years!”   Kath is far from convinced;  “I should report you to the pigs!   If it wasn’t for Ricky, you would be nowhere near this funeral.   You’re the lowest of the low!”   The Coroner’s office phones;  “He’s coming home, Mam, tomorrow afternoon,” Stacey tells her mother.
Siôn and Britt go to see Meic, who tells them that, despite his bragging, it does not appear that Dai is able to outbid them.   Siôn asks Meic to bid for the initiative in his place, as he says he is so busy with the funeral.   Meic offers them a drink to settle their nerves.
"To the Deri – the future!"
They drink a toast to “The Deri – the future!”
