Andrew on the phone, talking large sums of money
Andrew is on the phone to someone, complaining that the price has gone up from £20,000 to £40,000, but is sure he will get the money.
Sioned samples the Trout and Spring Onion Mousse
Then Sioned comes in, complaining to Ed that she wants a holiday;  Andrew produces some Trout and Spring Onion mousse from the fridge.   Sioned pronounces it lovely, but Ed is sceptical about serving it to the likes of Mark and Dai.   Andrew says he has a few irons in the fire, and a chef must go where the clientele is.
Debbie is rather forthright – "Kevin is not worth it!"
Meic is again depressed, but Debbie is determined to give the café a facelift, to make it “more summery”.   Meic shows her a visiting order for tomorrow, but Debbie is adamant that he should forget about Kevin;  “He’s not worth it!” she insists, and Meic decides to spend his break at the Deri.
Ed reads the letter from the brewery about the centenary
Ed has a letter from the brewery about the forthcoming centenary of World War I;  he reads, in English, “You may want to recreate recipés from the WWI era.”   Sioned thinks it is morbid to remember a world war, and Meic speaks of “those boys who will not come back.”   Andrew makes dismissive remarks about life in prison, until Sioned tells him that is where Meic’s son is, and he apologises.
Ed needs an injection of cash for the Deri, to pay the mortgage
Meanwhile, Ed steps outside to phone Banc Dyfed, requesting that they transfer £500 from his personal account to the business account of the Deri.   When he comes back inside, Andrew wants to show him something, suggesting it is like a “works outing.”
Madge's continual indecision infuriates Meic
Meic returns to the café, but when Madge asks for a doughnut, then changes her mind, requesting a scone, followed by not being able to decide whether she wants tea, coffee or hot chocolate, Meic loses his temper.   “Nefi wen!” he exclaims, “Can’t you decide before we all die of old age?”
He rips down the "summery" palm tree, before making a hasty exit
Debbie admonishes him, saying he is upsetting the summery atmosphere;  his response is to rip down the paper palm tree she has stuck up on the wall, and he dashes out of the café.
Sioned and Ed on the Swansea waterfront
Andrew has taken Ed and Sioned to the waterfront in Swansea, where he shows them an empty building, his next business venture, a restaurant called Gras.
Among other potential investors at "Gras"
Going inside, where there are several other people, he explains that he hopes to own a share of it.   Sioned is impressed with the building’s potential, but Ed is dubious, as they are plied with glossy brochures, and receive sample menus from Steve, one of the other investors.
Ed discovers that his brother is after a lot of money
Eventually, Ed gets to the crux of the matter – Andrew wants £20,000 from him, and despite Sioned’s enthusiasm, he refuses.
Debbie goes round to see Meic at home, and tells him that he has to face his feelings, rather than hide them.   He says that Anita has suggested he see a hypnotherapist, or a reiki practitioner, but Gwyneth was one of them, “And look what happened to her!”
Debbie wants a day out with Meic as part of his rehabilitation
Debbie says he has to take small steps, and as a first step suggests that the two of them go out somewhere tomorrow, she is not sure where, but “It will be a team-building exercise for the café,” she tells him.   He reluctantly agrees.
Ed is incalcitrant in the face of Sioned's and Andrew's arguments
When they arrive back at the Deri, Ed is still unmoved, despite the arguments from Andrew and Sioned.   He goes upstairs to look at the finances on the laptop;  Sioned joins him and begins to list the pros and cons.
They have opposing views about this £20,000
“It’s a chance to make a lot of money,” she says, and Ed replies, “It’s a chance to lose a lot of money!”
Sioned insists that this is something they can do together, and says they will need a bank loan;  Ed surprises her that he has £20,000 saved in a special account.
Sioned discovers there is money she did not know about
“Why didn’t you tell me about it?” she asks, and he jokes that he did not want her spending it.   He emphasises that he needs to keep something in reserve, and Sioned naïvely says he will have even more in a few weeks.
Sioned cannot believe Ed is turning down all this money
She scampers off to get Andrew, thinking she has convinced Ed, but upon her return, Ed announces, “I can’t do it!   I can’t risk that much money!” despite Sioned being quite convinced there is no risk.
"We're right and he's wrong" — stay tuned and we shall see.
When Ed returns downstairs to the bar, Sioned tells Andrew, “We’ll change his mind.”   Andrew doubts this, but she is sure;  “We’re right and he’s wrong.”
