Colin pins up the poster, using one of Mark's darts
Colin and Mark have had a shock –they have been booked for a gig, the biggest they have ever had, and part of it will be recorded for television;  Colin laughs, “You and me on the telly, fame at last!”
Jinx is checking sell-by dates in a rather paranoid fashion
Ffion is snowed under with signing school reports, and suggests they should have a weekend away, but Jinx is preoccupied with checking tins that may be past their sell-by dates.   He says the bottle of folic acid tablets can also be thrown away.
In the Deri, Sioned is telling Andrew that a range of different drinks attracts customers, when Colin and Mark come in, wanting their poster put up.
Landlady Sioned will not do any favours for Colin and Mark
Sioned informs them that she will not advertise, and if they want a gig there, it will cost them £150 to hire the bar;  their pleas for support are ignored.   They leave, disappointed, and Andrew comments that Ed has found a partner “who knows what’s what”.   Angela arrives and is surprised to see Andrew there;  when he starts asking questions, she thinks it is time to go.
Ffion visits Iolo, telling him that he is her closest friend, and she wants a favour;  she explains that Jinx cannot have children, and he has had tests and seen specialists about it.
Iolo is taken aback to hear Ffion's question
When she asks Iolo, “Would you be a sperm donor for us?” he almost drops his sandwich with astonishment.   She explains that they are desperate for a brother or sister for Arwen, but Iolo asks, “Why me?” and is suspicious of Ffion asking him while Jinx is at work.
Iolo reminds her that Macs is Arwen's father (or so he believes)
He also urges her to think about the family ties, mentioning his brother, Macs, still commonly thought to be Arwen’s father.
Iolo is irrationally convinced he has HIV, whatever the tests say
“Sorry, the answer is no!” he says, “I can’t be the father of anyone’s baby!   I’ve got HIV.”   Ffion questions him about when he had the test, and whether he has spoken to anyone about it;  eventually he admits that the test result was negative, but there could have been a mistake.   “I just know I’ve got it – please go away, and don’t tell anyone, even Jinx!”
"A few days away might do you and Gaynor good."
In the café, Jinx is telling Hywel he ought to admit the truth about his pains to Gaynor, but he does not wants to cause her any more stress;  Jinx suggests it might do them both good to get away for a break.
Then Colin and Mark arrive, and Debbie consents to put up one of their posters;  however they are rather downhearted that they are not good enough.
These two are markedly unimpressed by Colin's joke
This is confirmed when Colin tells one of his jokes to two of the customers, who simply shake their heads in disbelief.
Gaynor loses it, and attacks the wall like a mad woman
Gaynor, the interior designer, has painted several coloured squares on the wall, but is not satisfied with any of them, so in desperation picks up a hammer and attacks the wall with all her might.
Hywel cannot believe what he is seeing
After smashing a hole though the plasterboard, and wondering what to do next, Hywel returns;  “What on earth is going on?” he shouts.
Her excuse is that she could not decide on a colour;  “So you knocked a hole in the wall?   You should have checked for pipes and electrics first!   We won’t be able to go on that break to Cornwall I have just booked.”   Gaynor insists that if he has paid, then they will go.
Meic thinks he would be up to the job
The duo have convinced themselves they are not good enough to be able to go to the Eisteddfod, but Debbie maintains that it is their material at fault;  they need an “artistic director” to write them a script, and volunteers Meic for the job.   Ater initial reticence he thinks he could rise to the challenge, as he once shared a flat with Edgar Sutton, and “he was full of jokes.”
Colin does not appear to be 100% full of enthusiasm about Meic
Even so, Colin is not entirely sure, although Meic says he has always wanted to develop his talents.
Ffion and Arwen enjoying their cakes
Ffion returns home to find that Jinx and Arwen have been making cakes for Mam.   He comments, “It’s early days, but just imagine the four of us, all sitting round the table, like a family, eating cake.”
