Cadno tells the gynaecologist that she wants to be sterilised
Despite it being a Bank Holiday, Cadno manages to get an appointment with a gynaecologist, and tells him she wants to be sterilised;  she is separated from her partner and has two perfect sons.   She is 35 and does not want to face Post-Natal Depression again.
Sioned objects vociferously to their lodger's pants being in her bath
DJ is telling Ed about new dishes he proposes cooking for the Deri, when Sioned objects to his “dirty pants” in the bath, and orders him to remove them.   When Ed says he could use their washing machine, Sioned replies, “I’m not touching his pants!”   DJ smiles, remarking, “You don’t know where they’ve been!”
Colin is less than pleased with the condition of his bargain bike
Colin boasts to Gethin that he has bought a bike from John the Post, but when he sees it, with flat tyres and a broken chain, Gethin responds, “What did you expect for £10?”   As Colin is determined to do some cycling, he has the bike upside-down on the kitchen table, cleaning it.   Gethin objects to this, and also tells him to do some washing-up.
Gethin lends him a hacksaw;  "Don't tell Garry." he warns
Colin goes to the garage to borrow a hacksaw to cut the lock off it, but when he gets home, he knocks the bottle of oil off the table.
Eifion, Bobi and Arthur have been potato digging
At the farm Eifion has been digging potatoes, aided by Bobi and Arthur, and leaves a message for Cadno:  “Marian is ill in bed, and I have work to do.   Get a move on!”
Tidying up outside the Deri, Sioned is already fed up with DJ, his pants and smelly shoes hanging around.
Sioned, moaning at Ed about the unwelcome lodger
Angela comes out of her house next door, and remarks on “the cuckoo in the nest.”

Sioned wants some flowers outside, like Betty next door
DJ leaves to visit the Cash and Carry, and Sioned, seeing Betty, next door the other way, putting tubs of flowers outside her door, suggests that they should have some flowers outside the pub – DJ thinks “pansies.”
Hywel and Siôn planning a bike ride, before Colin gets involved
Colin has been boasting of pedalling like mad, the wind in his hair, but when Siôn and Hywel also intend to start a little gentle cycling, they are not keen for him to join them.
Cadno arrives back at Penrhewl just as Angela is leaving
When Cadno gets back to the farm, Angela is just putting Bobi in the car to take her to Elinor’s, where he can play with Stefan.   Cadno tells Eifion she wants his opinion on some houses, as she is moving out.   He asks, “Why do you want three bedrooms?” and is shocked when she tells him she will be taking the children with her;  She cannot live under the same roof.   She also says they should make their wills;  “I’m worried about the boys’ futures if I move out.   I want it on paper that they will inherit Penrhewl.”
"You're sleeping with Angela;  perhaps you should be sterilised too."
Then she reveals that she has been to arrange to be sterilised;  Eifion’s response is, “Have you never heard of condoms?   You’re not sleeping with anyone.”   “No, but you’re sleeping with Angela, so perhaps you should be sterilised too!” replies Cadno.
Colin bursts into the Deri, and asks Gethin what they use in the garage to get oil out of carpets;  after replying that they do not have carpets in the garage, Gethin realises why he is asking.   “It’s just a few spots, here and there,” says Colin.
As she ladles out a bowl of soup, Eifion asks Cadno where this idea came from, and she tells him that after he slept with Sioned, she would not touch him if he were the last man on earth.
The discussion degenerates into a slanging match
The argument turns nasty as he reminds her that she could not look after the two children she had, so perhaps it might be a good idea not to have any more.   “A good mother doesn’t leave her children for three months!”   Cadno insists that the boys are not safe on a farm with its dangers, but Eifion says, “They’re safer here than with their crazy Mam!”
When she mentions that her behaviour was caused by Post-Natal Depression, he asks why she did not tell him – he could have helped.
“If you wanted to help, you could have kept your hands off Sioned!   I don’t want any more children – you were the one, the only one – there won’t be anyone else.”
Eifion snaps, “I won’t have a vasectomy for anyone!”
