Gemma appears to be organising another assignation
Gemma receives a text, and Mark offers to give her a lift as he has to go to town;  then she she gets another text.
"I will buy Eifion's share of the farm," she announces
Jim is shocked when Eileen reveals she has told Cadno she will buy Eifion’s share of Penrhewl;  when she learned that a building firm wanted the land for housing, she could not bear to let all the hard work go to waste, but still wonders if she is doing the right thing.
Eileen orders Jim not to say a word
She stresses that she does not want to interfere with the running of the farm, and warns Jim not to say a word until the money is sorted out.
Gwynfor spends all his life in that pub
The Rugby club committee are having an emergency meeting in the Deri;  Hywel angrily asks, “What’s the point of a committee if one man can make decisions?”   When Jim arrives, he tells them, “It’s too late – the horse has bolted!”
Hywel is adamant that the money will be repaid
Hywel continues, “He can’t get away with this, he will have to pay back the money!” and they go off to confront Dai, although Jim does not accompany them.   “I have to work with him,” is his excuse, and DJ gleefully says, “I’d like to see Uncle David’s face when they tell him to pay it back.”
"That farm is hard work!"
Then Jim questions him about Penrhewl, as he did some work there, asking if it is making money;  DJ replies that it takes a lot of work, and Eifion does not seem to miss the place.
"The manager wouldn't like you coming in," she lies
When Gemma arrives at a big, imposing club, she makes excuses for not letting Mark come in, then when he has left for his shopping she goes to somewhere farther along the road.
He is Gemma's (or rather Lola's) latest date
She enters another building, goes up the stairs to a bar, where a man meets her and addresses her as “Lola.”
Hywel gives Dai an ultimatum
At APD, Dai is talking about the “black tie” dinner he is organising, and when the three committee members arrive, he calls them “the three wise men.”   He maintains that he carried out research, and was misled, deceived and defrauded, but they are not swayed, and Hywel demands that he repays the money he wasted.
"Stop the excuses — pay it back!"
“Stop the excuses – you have to pay it all back!” he orders, “I told you not to waste money!   I want the money today.   Bring the cheque to the Deri by six tonight!”
The only way Dai had managed to get Diane’s support was to promise her the Range Cooker she wanted, and back home, he is hopeful that he can get them to change their minds, by showing them his plans for the club’s celebration.   “They won’t accept the cheque when they see how hard I’ve worked,” he tells Diane, but she replies, “Don’t hold your breath!”   He then says if his plan does not work, they will not even be able to afford a bunsen burner.
Jim asks more questions about Penrhewl
As Jim comes out of the Deri, he meets Angela, and asks her about the glamping business at Penrhewl, and whether it is a sound business proposition.   She is suspicious, and he soon tells her what Eileen had instructed him not to reveal.
"Exciting new about Penrhewl!"
She of course heads straight to the shop and exclaims to Eileen, “Exciting news about Penrhewl!”   Eileen, after finding out who told her, reveals that so much has happened at the farm, that she wonders what will happen next.
A plot to unseat the chairman is afoot!
Back in the Deri, the three committee members are expressing no confidence in the chairman, and think they should look for someone else.
Angela, at home, asks Eifion what he will do with his share of the money from the farm;  “Retraining, starting a business?”
Ah, how romantic!
He tells her that whatever he does, he wants her to be part of it.
"Sorry, sir, no-one called Gemma works here"
Mark calls at the club where he left Gemma, and is surprised when told that no-one called Gemma works there.
The name "VIP Lounge" rings a bell
Then he looks along the road and sees a sign, “VIP Lounge”, so he goes there.
As he tries to contact Gemma . . .
He sees her bag and scarf on the bar, but cannot find her, so he goes outside to phone her, then notices a couple in a passionate clinch nearby.   Gemma sees him, and shouts, “Mark, it’s not what you think – let me explain!”
"I know exactly what's going on!"
Mark replies, “I know exactly what’s going on!” and marches off.
Dai thinks his plans for the club's anniversary will save him
Dai arrives at the Deri, brandishing his plans for the anniversary and the club website;  they will have a grand dinner with a famous player giving a speech.   Jim interrupts, “How do we pay?   The club has no money!”
"There's no money," says Jim
Hywel says that Dai can make the first contribution;  “Your cheque — when you’re ready,” he demands, and Dai very reluctantly hands it over.
“Goodbye, new cooker,” complains Diane, and Dai reckons they will not be eating for the next three months.   When DJ gives them drinks “on the house” and says that things could be worse, Dai grumbles, “How could they be worse?”
Mark is in quite a state when she comes home
Mark sits at home, dreading Gemma’s return, and when she comes in, begs her, “What have I done to deserve this?   Am I too boring, too old, treating you badly?   Aren’t you happy?”
She tries to assure him that he makes her happier than anyone, but insists that one day he will leave her, just like everyone else does.   She cannot handle this, so wants to leave him first.
Mark is incredulous;  “You’re leaving me because you’re afraid I’ll leave you?   And I’m supposed to accept that?”
"I don't intend to walk out — because I love you!"
When Gemma expects him to shout at her and throw her out, he responds, “I’ve been through a lot too, and could have walked out ages ago, but I haven’t and don’t intend to – because I love you!   Don’t you realise that by now?”
