Friday 6 June (1st)

It is like old times for Cadno at Penrhewl
Cadno calls at the farm to collect more of her stuff, but when Eifion comes in she is keen to leave, gathering up Bobi’s toys.
In the café, Jim orders two scones, but then changes his mind and makes it a whole victoria sponge.
Angela talks in English to her guest, Ian
Angela is talking (in English) to one of the Haven’s visitors, who enquires about Welsh culture, and then gives Debbie a £2 tip as he leaves.
Debbie is surprised by the generosity of her customer
Later, Debbie shows Meic a website on her iPad – “Complete Welsh Experiences, and suggests they could hold cultural evenings in the café.
The website Debbie has found on her iPad
Meic’s initial scepticism wanes as Debbie plans leek soup, Welsh lamb, and says that Meic’s trout went down very well.
Debbie explains her idea to Meic, who is initially not keen
He agrees that they could try out the idea on the visitors at Penrhewl, who Debbie reckons are “loaded”, and if he caught more fish, it would keep the costs down.   In the evening they could do something completely different to the daytime café – local produce and a Welsh environment.
When Cadno gets back to the house, Sheryl says it must be strange, no longer living at the farm, but at least she does not have to put up with Eifion..   She watches the boys while Cadno pops to the shop.
"Bubbles?   What a ridiculous name for a horse!"
Angela is already there, looking at a horse-riding magazine;  Sioned says she used to have a Shetland Pony when she was young, and Eileen comments that it was expensive to keep.   When Angela invites Sioned to come and see “Bubbles”, Jim makes fun of the name, but Angela says, “You can come and ride her – you are a cowboy!”   Jim responds with, “I never thought I’d see the day – you a farmer’s wife!”
Although Cadno assures Eileen that things are settling down and that moving out of Penrhewl was the best thing she has done, Eileen is not convinced, so rings Sheryl to suggest that she and Cadno should go out to the Deri this evening.
When Cadno is cooking for the boys, Eileen comes round, offering to babysit while she and Sheryl go out, and will not take no for an answer.
Cadno and Bobi out in the garden
Out in the garden – “A bit smaller than Penrhewl,” remarks Eileen – Cadno says she is not going to have regrets, but will make it work.   “Then go and have a drink with Sheryl,” urges Eileen, “See you at seven.”
Jim has made tea to go with the cake when Eileen says he will have to eat alone, as she is going baby-sitting.   He is naturally disappointed, and later, after the boys are in bed, he turns up with the cake and a bottle of wine.
Eileen thinks Jim has an ulterior motive
Eileen suspects that he has done something – “You haven’t blocked the toilet again, have you?” she asks – but he replies that he wants to celebrate three months of their being Mr and Mrs Probert.   He produces the video of their wedding.
In the Deri Angela is telling Eifion about a magazine article on running a riding school;  Sioned says she would like to learn to ride again.   Then Cadno and Sheryl come in, Cadno not pleased that, “He’s here, like a shadow!”
When Meic arrives and talks of local produce for his evenings at the café, Cadno insists on discussing it with him, as she still owns half the farm.   Eifion sulks, protesting that he tried to be nice to her.
Eifion not happy that Meic did not discuss the produce with him
On the Deri sofa, Cadno tells Meic that the Haven is booked up until the end of August;  Meic can see the potential – “They’ll all want somewhere to eat!”
Cadno arranges the supply of local produce for Meic
Cadno says that if they make it clear the produce comes from Penrhewl there will be a discount.
As Meic leaves, happy, Sheryl remarks, “It’s obvious who wears the trousers at Penrhewl!”  “It’s better than wearing jodhpurs!” replies Cadno.
Angela tells Eifion that Courtney is staying with Jim on Saturday night, so she will need some company.   “A fit farmer?” suggests Eifion, but then realises he has agreed to have the children that night.   He dashes off to see Cadno, who has just arrived back to find Eileen and Jim scoffing cake.   When Eifion gets there, the baby-sitters leave, and at first Cadno is determined that their childcare arrangements will not be scuppered by Angela, insisting, “She will have to change her plans!”
Cadno eventually capitulates over the boys' night with Eifion
After Eifion goes on about how they must be reasonable, she changes her mind, agreeing that he can have them on Friday evening instead, and he leaves, with a triumphant smirk on his face.
Debbie is surprised by the change in Meic’s attitude, as now he is adamant that the idea has potential;  they should do it properly, with no faking.   He advocates they should do a trial run tomorrow.
