Arwen is fixated upon Gwen, laughing behind the counter
Taid burns the toast under the grill and sets off the smoke alarm, rather to Ffion’s annoyance;  as there is no more bread, Taid and Jinx go to the café with Arwen, where she causes great amusement for Gwen.
Arwen is having an interesting time with her toast
Jinx remarks that Arwen enjoys eating out, as she plays with her toast;  Taid says he ought to go and leave them in peace, “To make babies.   You’d like that, wouldn’t you?” he says to Arwen, and then takes her for an adventure in the park.
"Why come to listen to you, correcting our Welsh vocabulary?"
Chester is on his way to school, and Siôn asks if his friends are coming over;  “Why come to listen to you correcting our Welsh vocabulary?” replies Chester.   When he has gone, Siôn tells Britt that Chester may talk in English to Catrin and Aaron, and he must ensure that they speak correctly;  Britt again dismisses him as a “Language Policeman.”
Lois' friend, Mali, cancels her visit to the spa
Lois has booked a session at a spa with her friend Mali, who has had to cancel, so Gaynor is persuaded to accompany her instead;  at the spa, Gaynor has a phone call, but says she is in a meeting which may last some time.
Gaynor has a chance to relax and chat to her daughter
As they relax, wearing face packs, Gaynor bewails the facts that she is always working, and did not have time to learn to ride a bike.   She is not relishing the thought of going back to school, and Lois says, “Don’t go, then!”   Gaynor does not have any hobbies and would feel lost, but Lois assures her that Ffion can cope with the Head Teacher’s job.
Siôn becomes more receptive to a bilingual service
Megan speaks to Siôn in the café about bilingual services, and finds that he is warming to the idea;  then she sees Jinx and seizes the “PR opportunity”, suggesting that CwmFM could publicise the services.
Soon after, Jinx has interviewed Siôn live on air;  over a cup of tea Jinx tells him that Arwen is growing fast, and is as stubborn as her mother.
Arwen ad-libs her way through another scene
Then Taid brings back Arwen, who is chatting away happily, and announces he will be going home later.
When Gaynor and Lois arrive back in the village, Gaynor wonders what job she could do;  Ffion approaches them, so Lois urges her mother to go and have a word.
Surprised, Ffion cannot make an immediate decision
As they sit on the sofa in the Deri and Ows brings them coffee, Gaynor announces that she is not coming back to the school, and virtually assures Ffion that the permanent Head Teacher’s job is hers, if she wants it, as the governors can be easily persuaded.   Ffion is surprised, but cannot answer yes or no at the moment.
Gaynor is quite sure that Ffion will jump at the chance
When Gaynor arrives home, she tells Lois, who is ironing, that she is confident Ffion will grasp the opportunity.
Siôn’s attitude has mellowed considerably, saying he will not excommunicate the non-Welsh from Bethania, and he will accept Chester and his friends as they are.
Britt will attend the service, but will not force the children to come
He asks if Britt will come to the midweek bilingual service;  she agrees rather grudgingly, but says she will give the children the choice whether to come or not.
When Ffion gets home she tells Jinx, “I had an interesting offer on the way home!”   Jinx replies, “Was he as handsome as me?” giving her an amorous hug.   She tells him that Gaynor is not coming back to school, and has asked if she would be interested in becoming permanent Head.   Jinx seems keen, advising that she might not get the chance again.
Taid comes in, having packed his bags, and Ffion hopes that it was not the toast incident that has made him leave.   He insists that he has to go and look after them “up north.”
Ffion takes a photo of Arwen and her great-grandfather
Ffion takes a photo of him with Arwen, then they have a group photo;  Taid addresses Arwen:  “Tell them you want a little sister or brother as soon as possible!”   Then he shakes Jinx’s hand, says, “Good luck,” and winks.
"We've decided, haven't we?" says Ffion
When he has gone, Ffion tells Jinx, “Children are something between you and me, and we’ve decided, haven’t we?”  Jinx nods, unconvincingly.
