Anita is spending a lot of time on her laptop, contacting Wil and playing games, which Meic describes as a waste of time.   Kevin agrees, but Anita says she enjoys it, and is on level 12 of her game, so Meic goes to the Deri;  Kevin puts a lasagne in the oven and goes for a shower, asking Anita to keep an eye on the meal.   Predictably, when he returns, the room is full of smoke, which Anita has not noticed, and the lasagne is “like a brick!”   Kevin is far from happy.

Although Britt chides Dani about being nosy with the customers, she reveals that the shop takings are up, and as Madge wants to cut her hours, offers Dani a permanent job, which Dani finds surprising.   She goes round to the salon, and asks Sheryl if she can have her job back there, promising that she will behave herself.
Garry takes Gwern to the chip shop, looking for Dani;  it is Gwern’s birthday.   Britt says she has offered Dani the job, and hopes to open another shop somewhere in a few years.   Then Garry finds Dani at the salon, mentioning that she will soon be working at the chippy all the time;  Dani’s response is, “I haven’t decided yet, I might refuse;  the work doesn’t suit me and I’d prefer to come back here.”   When Garry objects, she says, “You have to understand, no-one tells me what to do!”
"No-one tells me what to do!"
Thinking Ricky has a crush on her, Gemma hesitantly starts talking to him, as he has been asking her about Valentine’s gifts;  she initially thinks he was enquiring on behalf of Mark.   She eventually discovers that Ricky does not fancy her;  he does particularly like Courtney, but she has “got a lot on at the moment,” so he has moved on to Carys in Year 9.

When Mark comes in, she tells him Debbie was wrong:  “That’s not unusual!” says Mark.   When Ricky goes upstairs, they agree that they like each other a lot, but Gemma does not think very much about the future;  “One step at a time,” comments Mark.
Later, Dani and Garry call at the chip shop and Britt asks Dani for an answer;  when Dani says no, Britt starts shouting again, and Garry tries to argue that she should be there, maintaining that this is the family business.   Dani tells Britt that there is only room for one queen in a chip shop, and they would kill each other by the summer.   Dani returns triumphantly to the salon, telling Sheryl she has turned down the job, and agreeing to do all the menial tasks for a three month trial period.
Anita says that she can be anyone she wants on the internet, but real life is boring;  Meic challenges her to do without her laptop, Anita reluctantly agrees, so he puts it away in the cupboard, suspecting she will not last two days.

Sheryl tells Dani she has never seen anyone talk to Garry Monk the way she did, and she is, “Very brave, crossing the Monks!”
Dani replies, “Men need to know their place!” and embraces Sheryl, saying that they, “Will have so much fun together!”
