Meic is disgusted by Debbie's insensitivity |
In the café, Meic assures Debbie that no amount of apologies will make up for what she did; “It’s too late for ‘sorry’ — the horse has bolted! There’s no need to ask where you got the money for those ridiculous shoes.”
Diane has a phone call from Dai to say he will be home at midnight, so she warns DJ he will have to leave, but she will try and talk Dai round.

Sioned says he can have a room at the Deri. Then Eileen comes in to invite Sioned and Angela to lunch, as she has some important news for them. When Eileen has gone they look at each other; “You dont think…?” says Angela. “What else could it be? replies Sioned, “This family’s complicated enough already.”

Ricky comes home from school early, and sees his mother on the television, in a trailer for the Trudy Spencer show; he watches, aghast, as she says, (in English) “He told me he loved me, but I’d known all along that he raped her the night before our wedding.”

Meic is angry when he catches Debbie signing copies of the magazine; “When will you stop milking this tragedy for your own benefit?” he demands. Then Mark comes in with the news about Debbie being on television on Friday.

Later, Debbie receives a phone call from the TV company, cancelling her appearance and quoting an “exclusivity clause”. Ricky comes in and is pleased to hear this, saying, “The idea makes me cringe.” She tells Meic, however that she cancelled out of respect for his feelings.
Sioned is put out that her inheritance is to be shared |
Eileen announces to her daughters that her marriage to Jim is not legal, and Sioned reveals that she knew but did not want to spoil their day. “So you’re not pregnant?” says Angela, and Eileen bursts out laughing. She tells them that Jim is paying Mark to keep quiet, and that worries her more than the legal situation. When she says that she will change her will, to include Angela, Sioned shouts, “My inheritance?” Eileen replies that she lost a brother and gained a sister; “You’ve never been an only child, so stop behaving like one!”
Anita calls at Bryntirion, on the pretext of helping DJ move his things to the Deri. He tells her that Diane is at APD, and Dai will not be back until midnight; he needs help upstairs, and not with boxes of belongings. They disappear up the stairs.

Dai arrives back early at the Deri, and while he waits for Meic to take him home by taxi, Sioned tells him he can help DJ move out of Bryntirion. Dai, with a face like thunder, cannot get home quickly enough.

When he opens the door, he meets DJ, clad in Dai’s dressing gown, coming downstairs. Dai bellows, “Diane!” and races upstairs, where Anita has hidden in a wardrobe and so escapes detection. When Dai goes to look outside, Anita slips out of the back door, then Diane returns from work.
Dai says he is glad he had to catch an earlier flight, or he would not have found out about, “Roger the Lodger”. Then he discovers the new en-suite is finished, and Diane admits that Kevin has been staying there.

As soon as Debbie tells Mark about the cancellation, he has an idea, and rings the TV company, telling them (in English) that he has a cracker of a story for them: “A controversial relationship in a small Welsh village.”

Soon afterwards, Angela bursts in and accuses him of ruining other people’s happiness. “Why can’t you keep your nose out?”

As Meic and Anita sit down for dinner, Meic admits that however terrible the things Kevin has done, he cannot stop loving him. Anita receives a text: “Can I see you again?”
